I don't mind muddling. But when half the drinks on the cocktail list are muddled and boomers think it's the coolest thing ever, I lose my fucking mind when I have five tickets coming up for 20 muddled cocktails. Plus, the servers probably took too long to put the drink order in, so they'll get on my ass for their mistake.
That will all be changed soon, though. As soon as I find the best way to mix this strega.
Mis padres are coming to NYC in may, so I probably won't be up in Boston until August. Hopefully you'll be down to NYC before that.

Re: Apple/Adobe - But having a potentially universal platform for making apps across more than one phone OS would be a great idea, to me. Smaller developers who don't have the resources to build 4 different versions of one app isn't very feasible so wouldn't it encourage the app market for phones?
it would do that in roughly the same way Java encouraged desktop apps that ran on everything
Except Java GUIs were disgusting and needed platform hacks to work right all the time. But even so, I like the occasional java app I run. I like it more than not having a Mac version at all.
Flash at least runs and looks the same across platforms.

Martinis are a'ight. I would probably never order one, though. Especially when the martinez is a much better cocktail.

That's ok with me. Flash doesn't have any native widgets (though I guess there are some pre-drawn ones). It's not an application API and it doesn't try to be one. In the context of the iPhone, it's a rapid development environment for games and other entertainment products. I think having those show up on the iPhone wouldn't be such a bad thing at all.
What's funny is that you could easily bundle up an app that was just a hard-coded webkit view that opened to a fancy javascript and HTML page that looked and felt just like Flash and Apple wouldn't care. This is strictly an antagonistic business move that has only Apple's bottom line in mind at the expense of other companies AND consumers.
