Man, I wish I worked at our radio station.
But every time I ask, all of the student positions are filled.
i mean the only reason i wanted a show between 10pm and 6am is i was told i didn't have to censor the music i played (though i had to be able to make an argument for any profanity if need arose)
i don't know i guess i'm different but to me buying vinyl is all about understanding the history of music. i'll find something that has great art, or with a producer credit i recognize, or in a genre i'm a bit unsure of but want to get into. and it'll be a gamble usually but generally it'll have some excellent music i never would have even ventured into. and i'll end up reading into prog rock for three hours or listening to a rad funk song called young girls are my weakness
buying vinyl of a band who has probably has a myspace page and an exclusive itunes track kind of doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah, I'm not at all a fan of censoring music. I feel, for certain pieces, it takes some of the punch away.

you know there are bands that release things on vinyl exclusively still right?
then i think they're daftly limiting their market to a certain kind of consumer and that's not me
edit: it means they have more interest in generating some particular credibility than actually sharing their music. therefore their music is probably no good
watched the mother hips play a 40 minute set and bought phoenix - fences and also xiu xiu - fabulous muscles (but that was unrelated to record store day)
Releasing exclusively to vinyl sounds like a terrible idea.
Do they want to be struggling, or are they just too hip to conform to my ideas of being able to listen to music away from a damn record player.
a ton of bands today, while not releasing exclusively to vinyl, release 7"s and tour only eps that are only available in vinyl
i bought 7"s before i had a record player (in particular frog eyes' emboldened navigator and blackout beach's claxxon's lament). ultimately that's what compelled me to get one
