you're an extremely soft target in insanity (a second or two of sustained fire would blow my Tech Armored sentinel's shields all to hell) and the vanguard spends a lot of time out of cover
it's doable on hardcore, easily, but insanity is a bear
platform fight with the vanguard on insanity is widely recognized to be the most difficult thing in the game, period
soldier, sentinel, and infiltrator are better for insanity
you can try it if you want, but I figured I should warn you
