hmm. if they ever release it on a current-gen console I'll consider picking it up.
actually I have MH2 Glory United Gold Star or whatever on the PSP. I couldn't get into it - it just felt like an awkward, stripped down brawler. Its massive success in Japan is just kind of mind-boggling to me.
It's not the most welcoming of games, you definately have to put more in than they are giving you back to start (stats aren't explained, combines aren't explained, nothing has a health bar except the player etc) I like it though, it fits my sensibilites of action rpg and stats.
I guess that I hate playing games on the wii because they're ugly and the controls are spongey
and i don't like playing shooters or brawlers where i don't have a "look" stick, so that kind of game gets ruled out on the PSP as well. I did play a fair amount of PSU and Crisis Core, but mostly it was out of despiration since I was in greenland and only had portables and the PSP library it ain't all that deep.
plus, i generally end up not liking Sega games. I guess I liked Chromehounds.
so i suppse that MH3 isn't for me.

Samba isn't very good at transferring large files, lots of small files, or anything over a high-latency connection.
In other words, Samba isn't very good.
Samba is for letting Windows talk to real computers.
It's like yelling slowly and loudly at foreigners.
It doesn't really work.
See everyone says this, but I maintain: what in god's name is supposed to be the alternative. Even if I had a bunch of Linux boxes, the answer to networking them in a versatile way would apparently be Samba.
EDIT: I mean, it's not for a lack of searching. I've invested weekends trying to setup that GridFTP or the other protocol they developed for CERN.
Depends? What do you mean networking them together, as in shared storage? High volume data transfer?
You're saying that the election featuring Schwarzenegger and Gary Coleman wasn't taken seriously?
In other news, this is one of the candidates for NYS Governor this fall:
oh christ almighty what the fuck is that thing
That's a man. That has to be a man.

Monster Hunter to me has always felt like the perfect online RPG that just never quite had the marketing it needed.
I mean it's (now) voice enabled, with multiplayer co-op, JRPG elements, the best parts of World of Warcraft, god of war play controls, and it's free to play online.
How did that fail the first time around

the online sucked, it didn't have voice, the multiplayer was terrible, and unless the controls have gotten better it had a learning curve the size of Everest
The irony here is that Sage College is all about empowering women, but the girl holding the "No tuition increase" sign drunkenly made me a sandwich last night just because I told her to.

I played about an hour or so of MH3 last night. It's pretty OK so far. Very slow start. But I think I'll like it if I can get into it. Seems like an MMO without a bunch of wankers, which I guess is a plus. But I hear it's also online somehow.
I don't know. I tried the PSP demo thing of the last one and goddamn that sucked. The "control tactic" that you need to play it requires hooking your fingers into an absurd claw thing or something.

Mass Effect 2 Endgame Question
I am to the point of no return I guess. I saved right before. I picked a fire team leader (Samara) and a specialist to hack the door (Legion). After opening the 8 valves..I go to a cut scene and Legion dies.
Is there anyway to avoid this? I thought I heard someone say there was a no death path.

Yes, there is one. Some of it is based on doing loyalty missions, the rest on picking the right people for the right jobs.
SMB in Windows was originally intended for real-time access to small files within a single network segment.
Outside of that niche, it spazzes out and pisses all over itself.
Seriously, look at a SMB connection in a network sniffer sometime. It generates a wholly unnecessary amount of traffic.
Microsoft basically intended DFS for use over WANs (but nobody ever actually uses that).

New York Governor is the job where you go "Huh that sounds really important!" and then you realize that the Mayor of NYC is probably probably just below the senior senator in terms of power. Governor of New York isn't really an important post, and what with two huge disgraces in a row, it's a pretty laughable one.

a californian acquaintance of mine told me that he happily voted for Schwarteneggar because "we like to elect liberals in california"
it was just stupid
california likes to elect celebrities because the entire southern part of your state consists of starfucking zombies.
The entire election that occured after Davis got ousted was embarrassing. My HS year-book for that year was pretty spot on when spelling out our choices for candidates, basically: "Schwartzenegger, that Democrat guy, Gary Coleman, or a porn star".

It's okay, Will. I get pissed at anime fans too; worst part is, there are probably a few shows in there that I would enjoy watching, but I just can't stand to be associated with the overwhelming majority of their fanbase.
I haven't seen a new anime in probably 10 years.

He is, samara is just not a leader, jacob or miranda can do that part better. Also the speed at which you go effects his surival choices.

SMB2.0 (Win7/Server 2008) is a lot better, but I don't think the open-source implementations support that yet.

is that why you haven't been on BC2 lately? Because you've been swinging between white-trashing it up with UFC and weeabooing it up with MH3?
Or was it because a fifteen year old kid make fun of your voice for being high-pitched and reedy?
