it's strange because this semester I had to do a bunch of silly things with fluid flow in pipe systems but I thought that was easy peasy

I have a hard time imagining current flow but not fluid flow

so on the closed book portion of my kinetics final I was faced with a question that I had no idea how to answer since it was dependent on my paying attention in class

    so this was my answer

note the score, and that I didn't have the slightest clue of what I was talking about

I had a dream that I forgot to go to my AP calculus exam.

Also for some reason, in the dream I was convinced that this was also the plot of Space Jam, and I thought it was hilarious that Space Jam was happening to me.

flux aint that bad, although if you have it taught to you as how many field lines go through a given area (as I did) it doesn't really make sense because field lines are completely arbitrary. As with basically all physics, it makes more sense the more you learn about vectors.

    yes, this

well to be more specific I was in the hospital when it was taught, and then this is how people explained it to me.

I wish my teachers would give some sort of word goal, i usually answer the questions in 2 or 3 sentences, then I get half credit because i didn't answer a basic, straight forward question in enough detail.

    Alright.

Second Animation is done. Gonna find out the grade on Wednesday.

Next up is my third and final animation for my reel. Soundclip from O Brother Where Art Thou... and I really should get around to modifying the characters a little bit maybe.

There's a bunch of chairs set up underneath one of the stairways at the main library here. It's a really bad idea. Even unintentionally you can just sort of be looking around and then oh okay whoops that's right shouldn't be looking there

given the radius and # of protons in an atom's nucleus how do I determine the work done by the electrical force as a proton is brought from infinity to the surface of the nucleus????

    ooh that one

integrate coulomb's law from infinity to the radius of the nucleus, although it should end up just being (1/4pi*e0)*(n*e)/r

if you just want to do it the easy way, force is the derivative of potential and coulomb gives you the force so you integrate that for potential as a function of r, then you can just set your 0 at infinity and substitute in nuclear radius

oh and the work done by the force will be... negative, since it's gaining potential. It should come out right if you do the maths properly, but I'm always more comfortable doing it by inspection since I'm going to check it anyway.

    the latter

velocity is sort of in the upside down triangle squared term

V is the potential (which ties in to what unintentional was asking about!) and velocity as a function of position would be weird.
