It's not so much that it's "scary", as it's just incredibly fucking awkward and most people (myself included) are not going to be arsed to use it when there's a shorter, more general term available.
reading is hard. i don't get words.
i'm sorry I'd rather not completely reformat my vocabulary??
why build up that many lines of reasoning to feel victimized or marginalized
*is literally marginalised and victimised*
STOP ACTING LIKE YOU'RE BEING OPPRESSED!!! - white, cisgendered, straight males
growing up a certain place or being a certain race amounts to being precluded from a line of discussion? do you not see slight pangs of hypocrisy in this? i've been a white guy with a last name of perez for years and to this day i still get a million fucking wetback jokes
my statement isn't stop feeling like you're being oppressed
i think the line of reasoning could have a negative slant simply for the word usages that offend you being so broad. just compounding something for the worse, that's all

Wait are we talking about text interpretation and the difficulties in processing meanings?

give me better words for Neoliberalism and Heteronormativity (the two words Shoe seemed to get really angry at!!) then. Lets see how bad you are at this.
oh, "neoliberalism" i don't have a problem with! Just, heteronormativity is not a word I can see myself using outside of a paper related to LGBT issues!
does your opinion get more important the more minority boxes you tick
on some issues, yes, of course. for example, i am going to hold a gay person's opinion on gay rights in far higher regard (and be a harsher critic of) than a straight person's. the straight person is coming from a position of privilege and will have nothing new to ever add to any discussion.
Really feel like I didn't take enough advantage of college. Lots of missed opportunities, etc. And now I'm trying to find a job. Fuck.
As to actual graduation, it was kinda...not what I was expecting (and not at all like high school). I walked in to Jai Ho and out to Black Eyed Peas (Tonight's gonna be a good night). Paul Simon performed The Boxer for us. None of the speakers were terribly boring. Worst part was the Econ mini-commencement, 133 students in the Econ program, took forever to read off all the names. Kinda a surreal experience right now.

to play devil's advocate, by that reasoning you have absolutely nothing of worth to say of on the front of social advocacy considering a life partially in priviledge in las vegas, even if you loathed it

I would say it would be the other way around.
Because unless gay people become a majority they aren't going to be able to legislate on these issues as they are not the majority.
I mean you can say yes your opinion on their issue is 100% right. But if nothing actually happens with it, and nothing changes does it really matter?

and their friend has laid some knowledge down
and the straight dude agrees with the knowledge
he would never be able to pass it on because he's just some straight asshole

my black friend fucking loves chickenwings
i do too
that makes me not racist
Where people's ideas are rated on how good they are and not by the person's credentials?
I do not get this stereotype.
Who the fuck doesn't love KFC and watermelon.
If someone told me I could eat those two things for the rest of my life and have no nutritional problems, I would be so down with that.
