A token in a zone other than the in-play zone ceases to exist. This is a state-based effect. (Note that a token changing zones sets off triggered abilities before the token ceases to exist.) Once a token has left play, it can't be returned to play by any means.
Also, I was forced to play MtG by a super nerdy ex. I enjoyed playing, but built most of my decks around the concept of making people never want to play again...not necessarily beat them, just make them totally sick of the game. I called my worst one "Malice of the Void", and played with plenty of counters and such, as well as four of each of these:
I preferred combo decks that did something fun or wacky to kill the opponent rather than stuff that locked them down completely.
I only played the deck with the Splinter mechanic for one day. Literally. I got four of them at the pre-release, and built a deck around the land-removal tactic (I think I also used Snakes or something). Then the MtG girl and I broke up the next day.
But it went off both times I played it. The first time was against a mono-Red, too.
No, because by the time you have the opportunity to use that combo that he's described, you'll be dead.
Unless you're playing a complete dipshit, in which case, go to town.
It could be quite effective in a general Myr/artifact deck, but yeah, a deck full of artifacts? You'd have to be super lucky and draw the incubator on like your second turn for it to work.
and surely there are instants that let you search the deck for any artifact.

It was odd because one day I was all into it, and the next I just decided to not play. Haven't played since.

man I knew somebody who had one of these once
his entire deck was artifacts, so as soon as he played it, he basically turned his whole deck upside down and put thirty to forty 1/1s on the field.
so basically no one could cast spells at this point, right?
yeah, i wouldn't want to play with you again
t Dave: Good god, a 3/4 creature with trample and rampage for two mana? What the hell, that is insane.
