It makes me wonder how viable it would even be to try and sink a Nimitz-class carrier. I have no idea what kind of ordnance would be needed to destroy one of those things.

For starters, you'd want to go thermal for satellite tracking. As far as sinking it, the hull design pretty much negates the ol' speedboat bomb method. Most of the ballast is provided by the portion of the ship that is underwater. Want to sink a Nimitz, you'd need to make multiple underwater strikes. If you can breach the hull enough times on on side of the ship, on the underwater portion, the ship might even just tip over.

Thinking about how to hit a carrier.
No real easy or certain way to it, but if you could knock out the catapults then you've pretty much de-clawed the ship.

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
Not entirely sure, but my best guess would be that they don't
I mean, a US aircraft carrier may be a thousand feet long, but the deck is still less than a hundredth of a square mile in area
The Pacific Ocean by itself is 64 million square miles
You'd have to be pretty damn lucky to have a satellite in the right place at the right time just to see it, much less track it
damn
Pretty soon it's just gonna be

then the destroyer escort gets mad
I thinking just a lone carrier with no escort for this scenario.
Our navy fucking rocks.
And then they fucked
The End
The Gandhi Class Destroyer.
I thought you were majoring in dark ages european history
also, lots of athenian things are about butts
dudes loved butts
specifically built for subjugating shitty brown nations and firing golf balls at them 8-)
So are the rest of the planes kept inside the carrier? Do they lower them underneath the deck when not in use?
Well let me ask you something?
Do you like beer?

the wings fold up so they can store them easier
and yes, there is a hangar that is reinforced below deck
That episode is pretty much the extent of my Gerald Ford knowledge. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks of it when they see his name.
I agree
let us go drink beer
and eat nachos
and watch the game
