Damn you Geebs
DAMN YOU
I want to play this but I have no moneys to spare. Or, I do, but I have to choose between spending spare money on this or spending spare money on clothes.

I don't wanna kill anybody. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from.
I can't say enough good things about playing as a Praetorian.
It's like if someone stuck a BioWare RPG into a MMORPG. Dialogue trees, morality choices, branching storylines, the works!
Also:
Do you guys remember Unified? My dystopian super-hero online RPG that never ended up being finished? Praetoria is pretty much like that. The world was invaded by aliens (Hamidon, in this case), was saved by super-heroes, who then took all that power and good-will and took over the world.
Pretty much exactly what I was trying to do, tonally and thematically, with Unified, Praetoria is doing.
So if you're kind of raw about Unified going nowhere (which some people still are!), Praetoria is basically what I was trying to accomplish.

Feel free to play nude, we don't mind.

ryan had to fucking alt tab every few seconds to report his findings when he'd scout ahead in the instance so we could plan our attacks
we had a goddamn assembly line strategy. guru's burger king superhero and his goons would take aggro first until i got to the bigger dudes and i'd tank while our blasters went to town
everyone must've died a few thousand times until we mastered the attack
I remember first getting it back before i even started college
my computer had a SHITTY on-board graphics card. Everything was a light washe dout purple
every
thing
buildings, people, enemies, characters
all were washed out shades of purple
i still PLAYED THAT SHIT ALL THE TIME
Reminded me of when I started playing Asheron's Call. My vid card was such a piece of shit. The game would only show in the top left of my screen, my inventory, chat, and menus were all stretched or compressed. Everything was in this horrible shade of green and I still played that shit for about a year before I got a new card.
edit: how gimped are the trial accounts? I loved this game when it came out.

Pony I was really excited about this character I wrote up for unified called Peal, and then I never heard anything and I was so sad. But I still like that character concept.

I don't know if you can make the character concept work in CoH but pretty much Praetoria is almost everything I envisioned for Unified.

my brother called to wish me happy birthday and brought you up again

don't want to break poor ol' larbear's heart
yeah, when City of Villains came out, had a base too.
It sort of did but it ended up becoming our alt villain group. It is conveniently named Social Entropy.
the moustache riders were the most fun i'd had playing with SE people
the base was great
the motto (shut up projeck) was great and our tensest mission was a normal mission scaled terribly that we fought tooth and nail to win
someone drag up them pictures, or i'll find them again
the rank scheme was all after famous men with famous facial hair
i remember we spent a good hour and a half trying to clear the area
then we take the elevator and realize that there is ANOTHER floor filled with more fuckers
fuck you veretas
we had a goddamn assembly line strategy. guru's burger king superhero and his goons would take aggro first until i got to the bigger dudes and i'd tank while our blasters went to town
everyone must've died a few thousand times until we mastered the attack
and we had to take on only like 3 enemies at a time cause any more would just destroy us
everyone yelled at you because you played a woman with robot wings and you didn't have a cereal theme
oh yeah
They should never, ever tell you that.
i won't lie. sometimes when i ditched you guys in between missions it was because i wanted to run really fucking fast
it's because that is linked to the veteran rewards system
you get free and exclusive shit for hitting benchmarks of so many months paid
you know how you see some people with wings?
yeah, you can only get those for being subscribed for many months
mine was way too gay
1.5 years gets you anime wings, this is america
http://www.cityofheroes.com/community/veteran_rewards/veteran_rewards_program.html
wings come in at 15 months
so you good, son
i get exactly DICK
gonna make such a samurai later
you get trenchcoats
and uh
greek letter chest emblems?
meanwhile i have samurai armor and bat wings
GONNA MAE A GUN CHARACTER WITH THAT TRENCHCOAT
wait

Like to the point that it weirds me out.
EYE BEAMS
RED Heavy, the Super Strength/Willpower Brute
He punches out all your blood!
I loved my Rad/Rad Defender so much. I think this might be a sign.
