The problem wasn't downloading the patch. It was installing the damn thing. I just checked Blizz forums; you need at least 18GB free space in your HD to install/patch.
I got this message when I updated Starcraft. I cleaned out my hard drive and about a month later my computer does something and will not work anymore
I'm seeing patch notes in the installer which are clearly from the beta. What gives?

Man, Im worried how expensive glyphs are going to be for these first few weeks. I dont think I know a good inscriber either.
Why hello there, 4.0 chat thread. I look forward to us exploding this thread around 4 PM because of line queue and Authentication servers crapping themselves again. I'm glad I have level cap characters this time though!
So are any of the pre-shattering quests in this patch? Like part 2 of retaking Gnomer? I read the OP I swear!
Yes and no.
They're gated and we don't know the actual schedule of all the pre-cata events. They may or may not start today.
I would like to place my bet on the No before the roll is made
With the chaos today is going to cause alone it would be beyond stupid to start the event
Wait you can also use that line for a tv show
Well, except for the actual sundering; most of the events aren't like, say, the AQ opening events. They're more like the gnomer/echo isles events where they're triggered and repeatable for awhile.
Hell, even the sundering itself will probably be as such, I would imagine if you log in at all during the timeframe they have set up for it you will see the same thing others will, just on your own schedule.
Another 1.4 gigs to download? And it needs 18 free gigs just to install?
Well, I'm boned.
You might be able to start over from scratch with the streaming downloader if disk space is a problem, since a lot of the space is needs is a combination of your old copy of WoW, your pre-downloaded data, and the new temporary copy it creates. Only problem is I'm not really sure how you'd go about it just yet, since it seems you have to patch to get the streaming downloader. They might have something on their site.
Can't help you with the download itself though.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

I'm planning on getting a gaming laptop in the coming months, but that's still a bit away so right now I'm stuck with my crappy old desktop that only has about 10-11 gigs free right now. I'm going over what I may be able to delete in my head and I'm not sure how much space I can free up.
I'm at work right now and can't check my computer, but does anyone know how much space Starcraft 2 takes up when it's fully installed? It might have to go bye-bye until I get my laptop.
After the main 4.76gb patch installs, there is another 1.3gb of stuff to download through the new streaming client.
What is this
I don't even
The Launcher is being updated to allow streaming play while patches are applied. There're three stages; Red means core files are still being installed and you can't play, Yellow means you can play but suboptimally as additional files are being installed, and Green means you can play with occasional hiccups as cosmetic files are installed.

I completely spaced on the patch having glyph changes and didn't stock up for my scribe which mostly collects dust.
Hoping I can still make a profit on ah bought mats.
Kinda liking what I am seeing for resto shaman glyphs though, it looks like there is only 1 option for PvE. No "i want to focus on raid healing or tank healing".

Glyph of Chain Heal is still around, though now you can take it without sacrificing anything else.

I daresay it sucks when you internet connection allows you to download the damn thing faster than you can actually apply the patch

Sadly, this. In the weeks before the patch hit that introduced Inscription, I farmed non-stop. This time, I just kinda went "meh". Is it a good opportunity to make some cash? Hell yeah it is. But my god, the hassle it was to research, farm.... and farm, level the profession, make, post, and re-post glyphs was so freaking tedious. I just didn't have it in me to go through that a second time.

I spent a good hour or two researching the optimal glyphs before power leveling inscription. Wish I knew that unlike gems/enchants, popular >>> optimal for glyphs.
And yea it seriously was/is the biggest hassle assembly line wise, even if you buy the herbs.

I am so out of the loop in the game I feel totally behind with this patch coming (and the bigger changes coming soon)
but at the same time it's sort of a fresh start coming up! I don't mind that I didn't 'prepare' for everything.
I'm talking in more general terms than you are for sure but still, there is some fun in facing the changes head on. well, hopefully there is :P
Got any concrete figures for how much PvP mounts cost post-patch? Here in Europe we're just building up to it, and I'm wondering if I want to splurge honor before or after. I've seen both 1000 and 2000 honor stated in different places.
I must be thinking about the glyph situation incorrectly. I see is an immediate and dramatic plunge in demand for glyphs. Are you guys looking at the first day or so in terms of "prices skyrocketing"? It's not like they're going to be harder to make (or are they?)

EDIT: I think SC2 (I am considering this too) takes up about 8 gigs? The install files are 3 gigs (I just deleted those today).

Not sure how some of the new glyphs will be learned by scribes though.
