He can be his own publisher. You realize every company not owned by EA and Activision aren't indie right?
Well no, because by definition they kind of are?
Then the term is useless since every company that isn't owned by a conglomerate, which is quite a few including ones who do major releases each year, is indie. Lets be honest we aren't talking about a kid programming flash games out of his mother's basement though.

Seriously, because at least those games work.

I don't understand why this is so hard, you pay a discount to get to play with the game in an unfinished state, while possibly also lending the developer monetary support to continue developing a game you like. There are going to be negative things that implicitly come with that relationship, one of those meaning dealing with game breaking bugs and bad releases.
If the game hits release and he's still futzing about and breaking the game all the time, sure, complain away, but jesus..it just went into beta this week.
God knows nothing makes me feel more confident about a release then a failure to fix bugs that make it unplayable for people who have already purchased the product.
I'm not saying this isn't a valid point, it is. But thems the breaks when you buy into an alpha from a first time, one man developer, there is a chance he will not perform to your expectation. Don't want to take that chance? Don't buy a game while it's in Alpha.
If I got burned on my cash, I can deal because I knew what I was buying into, and honestly I've easily gotten my money's worth out of the game already. But yeah, I get aggravated with the guy's patches sometimes too...
So then what exactly are you saying? I'm really at a loss?
I also enjoy hearing 1 man developer and indie constantly used in these discussions. Especially when he has a team of people working for him, albeit he hired them to create another game instead of working on this one, and he himself admits to not really being indie anymore but prefers the term.
Good lord, you two are being absolutely ridiculous. And Deshadow you in particular are being an entitled baby.
Hilter was a fantastic artist, its just his medium was jews.
I see what you did there.
On a serious note, I believe it is thought his landscapes were good, but his drawings of people were not so good, and that's why he was denied entry to art school.

You realize what I'm wanting isn't entitlement right? Like some of the geese seem to think it is, but if you'd like I can point out actual cases of entitlement in the MC thread on this forum and others.

No it isn't useless.
and independent developers and independent musicians and suchforth are by definition those that produce and sell or release their own products without the backing of a separate publisher or studio or whatever.
Yes, this covers people like Blizzard until recently. The scale does not matter. Just like people confusing "indie" in music with a musical style or musicians who don't have mainstream success or whatever. It may gain those additional senses because language works like that
This just in, wanting to play product you purchased = entitlement. We're done here folks.
And its not even like I'm asking for a bug free product. Or a magic snap of his fingers anytime a bug happens. Lets not forget he's given up mentioning the bug exists and changes the subject when asked about it.

Yes it is useless because when discussing indie developers you picture a guy in his mother's basement, not a multi-billion dollar company with multiple tripe A releases.

I'm not going to, because you and preach have obviously already made up your mind and nothings going to change it, and you both would rather cast hyperbole and snide remarks than have a conversation about it, and that's totally fine.
You don't like the Notch's development style and you have serious issues with the game's development, I get it. I also don't care. For those of us who are enjoying the game, and understand the concept of an alpha, we'll just keep on doing what we do, playing it and trying to provide constructive feedback for its development. And we all live happily ever after.
Hmm, the concept of Jury Nullification is interesting. I can see good and bad sides to the concept.
There are good and bad sides to the concept. Like justice, it applies itself blindly.
What no it doesn't, jury nullification isn't applied blindly, its a tactic in trials, you don't blindly apply a tactic, jesus christ do you understand english?

In this context, I think he means "blindly applying a tactic" in the "trying a certain tactic and ignoring the situation and not changing what you're doing no matter what happens" sense.

Yes it does.
They both attain a major boost in status from being featured.
Status = recognition = sales = no longer in a garage.

Yes but using indie as an excuse due to said correlation is wrong.
