Time to buy a PSN card I s'pose. I've been meaning to get Two Thrones too so might as well take the plunge.

Oh, and EWom. Your dps is fine if you're just starting out. You have be doing sub 7k numbers to be doing something wrong.

For just getting into heroics, with an ilvl 333+ weapon, I say at least 9k DPS should suffice. At least that is what I ask of my DPS for Baradin Hold for the minimum and that is a simple tank and spank fight.

Due to the fucktarded streakiness of Ret Pally DPS, my DPS varies WILDLY.

On boss fights I have to move around a lot on, 5k - 8k dps. On tank/spank where not a lot of movement is required? 11 to 12k. So. friggin. frustrating.

Next patch does seem to take a bit of randomness out of our DPS. The last few blue posts (Mastery not working with Inquisition and 50% HoW nerf being bugs) actually put our DPS in a nice spot.

But I do know what you mean Wave. I know a lot of people hate Holy Combo Points but I do like Holy Power. I hope these tweaks help out.

I want to buy ME2 but I don't know if I have the time to fit in my (as of late) busy schedule. How long does it take? 30 hours? 20 hours?

Stop everything and play through ME2.

You should not even be reading this line as you should be playing ME2. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU.

    But but but...

    NO.

Yeah Retribution is godawful right now, but with the changes of 4.0.6 our DPS will be more manageable. Be sure to keep Mastery gear handy for when the patch come, however for now Mastery is crap and better off reforging for Haste.

I doubt you'll want to go out of your way to get mastery after the patch. It will be more useful than it is now, but ret will prefer stacking assloads of haste to reduce the cooldown on Crusader Strike. Otherwise you will be stuck autoattacking a lot when all the filler abilities are on cooldown.

Actually, according to the latest notes (Mastery working with Inquisition) Mastery pulls ahead of crit and haste.

    Quoting Exemplar:
    Current: Str > Hit > Exp > Crit/Haste > Mastery.
    PTR: Str > Hit > Exp > Mastery > Crit/Haste.

Hit and Expertise are still less than half of Str in power, which means we do not gem for them (again, unless using a hybrid gem nets more overall Str+stat gain). As Mastery will remain under Hit/Exp it will not be gemmed (yet again, unless part of a hybrid for major Str gain).

It's remotely possible that a sufficiently large Hit, Exp, or Mastery socket bonus could be worth a single hybrid gem.

But who knows. These values change every week. EDIT: Also, since crit and haste have currently the same stat weight it's more beneficial to just keep them roughly the same.

I was pleasantly surprised to find my UH DK pulling out 10k+ in heroics, with 6 greens, a few 333 blues & weapon, reputation 346 boots & ring and one or two blues from levelling dungeons.

    I think we're getting nerfed. :[

    I think Frost is.

Did DK's see any huge class revamps like Paladin's got in Cata? I have my 80 I can dust off at anytime, but have yet to bother.

Well, our whole rune recharge system was changed (only one rune of a particular type can recharge at a time, haste can speed this up), along with each tree being designed around a particular role (blood for tanking, frost & UH for dps).

As UH I can make my ghoul into a hideous bloated zombie thing if I throw enough deathcoils around.

Dragon Age is the real bastard, taking me goddamned 60 hours to beat it.

And I didn't do all the sidequests.

EDIT: I also got a Kindle for Christmas, which is like Steam for books. My WoW time is basically raids and arena, with maybe one evening for farming flasks and potions.

    Nuuuu!

We have a ridiculous number of DKs as it is, but, no they didn't get a particularly huge revamp. Unholy feels the most different to me, in how fast it burns through runes, and the number of strikes it uses.

Dragon Age is even better if you think of Morrigan & Alistair's banter as sexual tension instead of contempt.

I assume you went PC huh? I wish I'd have gone that route instead of PS3. Since I got my save there...and that big ass 55 plasma...I don't think I can play DA2 on PC.

Biggest regret: rolling a Warrior Tank. Should've rolled a mage. I spent most of the time controlling Wynne during that run.

Dragon Age becomes rather pointless once you realize that Cone of Cold works on bosses and is, in fact, the way you beat the game.

As stated class mechanics changed in that rather than having six pools that recharge, you have three pools that go two deep. Afew abilities that were 2 runes now cost one (hb and ss) but for the most part you still have your beefy 2 rune abilities, although uh uses the single rune ss most of the time. UH also uses festering strike, a new base ability that hits somewhat hard and increases disease durations.

Blood is now only a tank spec, and thus blood pres is now for tanking (increased armor hp) while frost gets the % damage gain and now increases runic power gain.

Finally to offset the lack of runes slightly all runic power dumps have a 45% chance to fill a fully depleted rune. This basically means while you mostly won't feel gcd starved, you won't feel like you are playing half as much as before.

Oh and dks are so op dps right now. I think I started out nearly at 10k dps at 85.

Yeah I was thinking about dusting my DK off. I went over to EJ and to my great despair I learned that Two-Handed Frost is one of the weakest of all DK DPS specs.

I've always wanted to play Frost, it seems very cool (haha pun...), but I refuse to use two 1 handers on a DK.

Apparently the order (from greatest to weakest): 2H Unholy > DW Frost = DW Unholy > 2H Frost, with 2H Unholy being ~1.5% ahead

    Booooo.

I beat it without CoC, or I got pretty damn far before I realized the game was so poorly balanced that I starting seeing neon GET CONE OF COLD signs on every fight.
