And I hate to say it, but I actually enjoyed the Grammys last night.
If only for 3 reasons:
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" performance
Cee Lo Green's performance of "Forget You" while wearing a bird costume, while Gwyneth Paltrow was singing backup and muppets were dancing and playing in the background
And the fact that Justin Bieber lost 2 awards to people the mainstream music fans know nothing about (even I had to Google Esperanza Spalding, though I love Arcade Fire)
I just can't understand how so many people think Arcade Fire is a complete unknown band when they had a #1 album.
there are some people out there who apparently can not hear of new bands unless the bands are constantly being shoved at them through the top 40 machine

that's the only explanation I can think of
The other odd thing is the assumption that an "unknown" band is somehow less deserving than a popular one. Quality and popularity do not necessarily go hand in hand!

I think it's pretty funny that people who don't even look for new music are getting all pissy about this. Also that this is far from their best CD. As in I feel it's the worst out of their three.

are you also friends with the commenter there?
Steam
Sure, but that's not the entire notion of selling out, nor is the entire goal of a band to gain popularity or success.
