Is Ep. 2 better than the first? I loved the presentation but the actual content of story and puzzles was kind of a let down, compared to their other games. I thought it was super short too.
Guess I'll find out when I get home today.

So, still no 360 version? Really hoping and wishing for a retail collection on 360 once all the episodes are out. I suppose I could cave and grab it on my Mac. Not really keen on sitting at my computer for any extended period of time. When's the ipad version coming?
From what we can see, it appears Sony has ponied up some cash to be on the forefront for console Telltale games. All the Telltale games have come out on PSN pretty regularly.
Not official yet, but some leaks have seemingly (accidentally?) confirmed that Telltale are indeed making a Walking Dead game, along with another title based on the Fables series of comic books.

I liked Episode 2 way more than the first one. The puzzles don't really get any more challenging but the story takes a really interesting turn and by the time you get to the end you'll be clamoring for more. I can't wait until Episode 3, honestly.

Oh yeah, and if you look the BttF season is only $20 on PSN while it's $25 for PC. So there's that incentive too.
Ah, here's where the thread went. Couldn't find it yesterday
Episode 2 was awesome. So good.
Mentioned it in the Steam thread, but here goes again: I liked how the trailer they included in Episode 1 didn't actually show what this episode was about.
Kind of saw the ending coming when Doc pulled out the ticket stub for the first time, though. Still, looking forward to Episode 3.
Well, that was very disappointing. Downloaded the mac demo and jesus balls - this thing is glitchy.
Things run okay during gameplay, but a busy cutscene slows it down, and stuff like the beginning of the car chase when you arrive crashed my computer.
Even worse is that there's something very odd going on about the shaders or whatever you called them. The sidewalk was black and flickering, Marty held a white block instead of a skateboard etc.
I've fooled around with all the resolutions and graphic qualities as much as I can, and nothing seems to work. Shame, really. What little I saw I quite liked.
Any word on when episode 2 will be on PS3? Just bought and played the first one and wanting to continue with the story.
The PS3 version of Ep1 came out at approximately the same time as the PC version of Ep2. I'm guessing that trend will continue. Ep3 is scheduled for an April release on PC, so you can probably expect to see Ep2 on PS3 around the same time.

It was March... did they push it back?
edit: Oh hey, the wiki page for the game says the PS3 release date of Ep2 is March 29.

Episode 3 came out yesterday. Anyone beat it yet? Seemed ok to me, could have been better. Also, I take it they did not have likeness rights to Lea Thompson or Claudia Wells :P
Well, seeing as Claudia Wells was actually playing the character, I'd think that would be a little weird.
Yeah, I couldn't remember if she was or not. Tried to find some damn credits (god forbid anyone actually updates imdb), finally found it after I posted that. Why the heck did it not really look like her?
If somebody showed you just the head of Marty McFly from the game, would you be able to go "Oh yeah, that's totally Michael J. Fox"?
Probably, yes.
Though I don't know what that has to do with anything because I know this is supposed to be Jennifer already. I'm saying she doesn't really look like Claudia Wells, at least not as closely as Marty, Doc, Biff and even George look like their actor counterparts (to be fair with George, he IS played by two different guys).
Both Jennifer and Loraine kind of remind me of the Indiana Jones adventure games, where they couldn't get Harrison Ford's likeness so they created an Indy that *sort of* looked like him, but was different enough not to infringe.
I will give Jennifer the benefit of the doubt though - her hair was completely different which may have had a lot to do with it. Also, she was in the movies for what, 5 minutes? :P
I like that they are using alternate Brown as a bad guy now. Tannen is getting kind of old. The whole bit with the altered Tannen family tree in the second chapter was gold however.

Besides, she had two different actresses. That's gotta throw a wrench in the works somewhere.
I must say, the writing of this episode as well as the voice acting really impressed me, particularly the development of edna and doc felt like something that was thought through very well. So far the whole series is coming together nicely i must admit, i was expecting it to be a lot more episodic and random.
Though, this was the second reference to clara and the kids, which proofs that this happens right after the third movie. for me, that poses the question when the doc we interact with is from, because he has a delorean, which was clearly destroyed at the end of the third movie.

The explanation for the Delorean is covered in a branch of conversation in the first game, but it is possible to miss it. Essentially the car is a copy from one of the movie time lines.
Given that Doc mentions he and Clara were arguing over which time period and college their kids should go to, so probably around a decade after the third movie.

I still don't really get that. I thought Doc was all about not messing with history by the end of the third movie.
BTW, did this seem odd to anyone else? (end-ish spoilers):
The de-cycling bin empties into the old Speakeasy, but that is on the opposite side of the square. Did they really run a tube all the way from the clock tower to the speakeasy?
I figured that the casino tables were just de-cycled and they are actually in the courthouse basement.
I really like telltale's work... it's a shame their QA seems almost non-existent. I wonder if there's anyway they could have beta testing and still keep their monthly schedule.

No, it's clearly El Kid (or whatever the club was called, I can't remember if that's the correct name now :P). The layout is the same and it has the same panic switch to trigger hidding the roulette table. The monitors are where the stage used to be.
And yeah, I noticed this episode in particular seemed rather glitchy to me. I had a lot of weird model flickering happen where it almost looked like a scene would start, but the models were not in the right position so it really quickly moved them (instead of doing this off camera).

About El Kid:
Yeah. I think they made a mistake there. They should have made a more plausible location for the tube. They should have just made the room different and had Marty notice the table and bar. That would have made that puzzle less obtuse.

The penultimate episode has been released! I already completed it! Its okay! Wish the Young Emmett runaround wasn't such a chore.
The penultimate episode has been released! I already completed it! Its okay! Wish the Young Emmett runaround wasn't such a chore.
Just finished it here too.
Sneaky that the mini trailer at the end of the last episode showed bits that didn't even come up in this one. Wonder if those appear in the next, or if they were cut completely for whatever reason.
Also, totally called Citizen Brown falling for Edna again. Really interested to see how messy things turn out in the next episode.
Citizen Brown deciding against the plan once its gets going was a good idea - It makes sense that he'd have cold feet after seeing young Edna, who at this point wasn't evil or even bad, just really judgmental.
I'm really, really tired of the formulaic puzzle structure though. I groaned when the plan to breakup Edna/Emmett came up - Here come the 3 puzzles. And sure enough, Edna listed out the 3 things you need to accomplish to break them up.
Sam and Max S3 really managed to mix things up in terms of narrative structure. Its disappointing that they've gone back to the normal Telltale formula for this.
Summary : Story good, gameplay boring.
Edit : What happened to Einstein, anyway? Did they just leave him in the future?
I'm not really happy with the direction Telltale is going. Masses of licensed games, with extremely lazy puzzle design and they're sticking to their retarded click/drag control scheme.
I had pre-ordered every adventure game they've done so far, but I won't be doing it for their next ones...

Back to the Future game ends, logically, the way it should end.
A clusterfuck.
Better than the ending of Bttf Part 3.
They could easily leave it at that, but it is apparently To Be Continued. I wasn't aware of the terms of the license, I kinda thought it would be a one-off all along and that's it.

Yeah, really enjoyed the episode but a big WTF ending... I was surprised at the "To Be Continued" as well... is that wishful thinking or did they actually negotiate a contract? I suppose actually getting Michael J. Fox on board for the last one may have been a sign that the higher ups were pleased with the game (or at least MJF was enough to agree to do some voiceovers).
Speaking of which, wow, they got a lot of use out of him He did a pretty decent job too.
P.S. - WTF is it with Telltale and audio issues in almost every episode (of anything) they release? This one was horrible - all kinds of stuttering/low quality audio and one fairly lengthy and significant line that flat out didn't play (thank god I had subtitles on).
Finally playing this now that I have an iPad. Ep 1 is veeerrrrry glitchy. Kinda sucks the enjoyment out of it. I wonder if this will get a released on 360 now that MS and Telltale have kissed and made up.

It's funny too cause I was stumped in the first game because of this type of puzzle. Einstein is a herding dog (of science)!
Not a scent hound!
I never asked for this!
So I promptly went to Telltale and dl'd it; now just waiting for the time to boot it up, hopefully sometime after work.
