Skill Card Abilities
If a player is hoping that another player has a specific Skill Card ability, he may ask other players.
For example, if a player is thinking of using the “FTL Control” location during his Action step, he may ask if any players have a “Strategic Planning” Skill Card.
Players may admit to having a requested card, but are not required to.
This information should not be abused (for example, a player should not just list off all card abilities in his hand).
I'll allow it as long as it has purpose and isn't abused.
I'm not sure Cain is planning on being a team player here.
I've got a Critical Situation, so I'm thinking I take two shots at the Basestar with the Pegasus CIC. Someone tosses in a strategic planning, we have a good chance of destroying it.
I guess I'm ok with that. Again, I'm not as keen on using an XO to get your presidency back because we essentially waste one action with it, whereas on your turn you can move for free and get the presidency back.
i.e. Zarek move, XO later = 3 total actions
XO Zarek, then he uses his action later = 2 total actions
I'm also not sure I trust Zarek enough to help him get back into office- I'd rather give it to Lee. He was REALLY quick to accuse me of being a Cylon, before I had even done anything suspicious. Choosing morale, the easiest resource to regenerate, as a loss rather than population, the hardest, is a no-brainer.
I'll freely admit rescinding my initial card contribution is a bit suspicious, but A. I thought it was wise to save that card for a later skill check and B. I wouldn't, if I were a Cylon, risk discovery on so mild a check. AND I had to worry about being accused of tossing a 0 pointer in there and triggering the consequence- allegations forwarded by Zarek himself.
This is my first time on a forum game, but this is not my first time to a BSG rodeo. The most strident Cylon accusations come from Cylons hoping to throw off suspicion. That being said, I won't oppose Zarek retaking the Presidency on his turn. Anyway, I consider the Basestar the higher priority threat than a temporary Admiralenty.
Anyway, that is my reasoning for the following. I playTactics 4- Critical Situation for an extra action. I activate the CIC twice, firing at the Basestar. I strongly recommend folks with a Strategic Planning toss one in on this roll or the second one.
Nobody cares about the morale or population choice.
The whole issue is that you stole the presidency, which is a major hassle for us to deal with that involves passing more checks and wasting actions and cards that could be used in better situations. That, in and of itself, is ultra-suspicious, especially how you did it without consulting us at all.
Also, Lee's our only Pilot. Why would we want him sitting the president's office instead of in a Viper?
Dracil: All the actions equalize out. Remember that I can send out an XO too.
Lee's actions have so far seemed trustworthy, that's why. Had he wanted to he could have sent two civilian ships into Cylon country and our alert viper away- two ships is a very good deal for a Cylon.
And how did I control the Crisis card that gave me the Presidency? I made the best of a bad deal.
Turn 5: Admiral-President Helena Cain (Professor Phobos)
Movement Step: Professor Phobos plays Tactics 4 - Critical Situation to take an action. Pegasus CIC is activated, targeting the fore (9 o'clock) basestar. Dracil plays Tactics 4 - Strategic Planning to assist the roll.
Attack Roll: 2+2 = 4, the fore Basestar is damaged once: Hangar Disabled.
Action Step: Professor Phobos activates Pegasus CIC again, targeting the fore (9 o'clock) basestar. Anyone want to play Strategic Planning? (Need responses from all four players other than Professor Phobos)
Turn 5: Admiral-President Helena Cain (Professor Phobos)
Action Step: Professor Phobos activates Pegasus CIC again, targeting the fore (9 o'clock) basestar. Stiles plays Tactics 3 - Strategic Planning to assist the roll.
Attack Roll: 5+2 = 7, the fore Basestar is damaged twice and is destroyed.
Admiral Cain fires up Pegasus' guns, targeting the enemy Basestar. With precise work, the Cylon capital ship is cut down. Once the combat has ended, Cain receives reports of a manuscript being distributed among the fleet citizens. It seems that the work, while potentially inspirational, could also spark radical activity...
Crisis Step: Controversial Manuscript
President Helena Cain (Professor Phobos) must choose:
A) -1 morale OR +1 morale and damage Galactica/Pegasus twice
After Crisis: Activate Raiders, Advance Jump Preparation
If Option B is chosen, Professor Phobos must also choose how the damage will be distributed. In either case, since there are no raiders or basestars on the main board, the After Crisis effects will cause the Pursuit Track to advance. I'll need Dracil to decide on a placement for the civilian ship when this happens. Sending in conditional orders is also fine.
Well, the thought process makes sense, and since he discarded a 5 strength card I'd say it's safe to say he wasn't going to put in a 0 for whatever reason. Plus we got our morale back, and that always makes me happy. The presidency should go to someone who can be making use of it at the moment though.
With any luck, no one will go to sickbay and either Mr. Gaeta or myself can repair something.
Turn 5: Admiral-President Helena Cain (Professor Phobos)
Crisis Step: Controversial Manuscript
President Helena Cain (Professor Phobos) must choose:
A) -1 morale OR +1 morale and damage Galactica/Pegasus twice
Professor Phobos chooses Option B, +1 morale but damaging the battlestars twice. Pegasus draws the first token, damaging Main Batteries. Galactica draws the second token, resulting in a loss of 1 Food.
The Admiral decides that the people need inspiration wherever they can find it, allowing the book text to continue circulation despite the damage that some of the text's followers will perform.
After Crisis: Activate Raiders, Advance Jump Preparation
Since there are no Raiders or Basestars on the main board, a Raider is placed on the Cylon Fleet board.
Placement Roll: 5, a Raider is placed in the starboard-bow (11 o'clock) location. The Pursuit Track advances to Level 2, and Dracil to places a civilian ship at the fore (9 o'clock) location.
Jump Preparation advances to Level 4 - Jump is possible, though quite risky. Turn 6: Tom Zarek (Plutonium)
Receive Skills Step: Plutonium draws 2 Politics, 2 Leadership, and 1 Tactics card.
Beneficial Result: Political Strategist - Draw 3 Politics Skill Cards. Antagonistic Result: Questionable Ethics - Discard 2 random Skill Cards.
Samuel T. Anders (Armory)
Beneficial Result: Athlete - Move all centurion tokens on the boarding party track one space towards the "Start" space. Antagonistic Result: Rookie Pilot - Choose two unmanned vipers in space areas to move to the "Damaged Vipers" box.
Saul Tigh (Command)
Beneficial Result: Executive Officer - You may choose another character to send to the "Brig". Antagonistic Result: Heavy-handed - You are sent to the "Brig".
Conditions
Arbitrator - Anastasia "Dee" Dualla (Stiles) - When a player activates the "Admiral’s Quarters" location, this player may discard this card to reduce or increase the difficulty by 3.
I agree that the Presidency should change hands back to someone who can make use of it. Someone should also visit the Pegasus to fix the Airlock and the Main Batteries.
If I sent someone an xo, could they head over to administration and activate it? That way, I could stay in the president's office and make full use of any xo's for this round to farm the quorum while we're relatively safe.
Well, I do have a card I can burn to get over there. I'm not super thrilled at having to spend two cards just to activate a location though. If you think it's worth it I can do it I guess.
Burning an entire XO just so Tom Zarek doesn't have to walk to another room on the same ship seems like a waste. Just go to Administration, get your title back. We're pretty secure at the moment, and we can always XO you back to the President's office to farm Quorum cards.
If Dee is going anywhere, it should be to Pegasus to start fixing the old girl up.
I lost my repair card, unfortunately. And I think trying to stock up on some quorum cards during the lull isn't a bad idea, and 4 > 2. Also who needs Pegasus when you can have Mk VII vipers! An xo to Lee wouldn't be bad either though - he could escort that civilian and fire on the heavy.
Movement Step: Plutonium moves to Administration. Action Step: Plutonium activates the location to try and give himself the President title. He uses his general ability, Friends in Low Places, to reduce the difficulty of the check by 2.

Thoughts on this? I could only help a little, and this isn't Zarek's colors at all. Failure here doesn't seem too bad; just costs us a repair and an action later, though it makes it slightly more difficult to take out that heavy before it can land. No one important is in Weapons control to be hurt.
I have nothing but teeny tiny tactics cards, all of which are more useful to play than to put into such a minor crisis.
Seriously, though, you've got a laser-like focus on casting suspicion on the Admiral, when I've done nothing but explode the enemy. I'm starting to worry our President might not be a natural born citizen, and his birth records falsified. He could be a Kenlon.
