Well, as of a few days ago I own House of M, Runaways Volumes 1, 2, 4 and 5 (3 was, unfortunately, not in the store. Which sucks because apparently it's a VERY IMPORTANT BOOK.), and Civil War: Young Avengers and Runaways. All good stuff.
Next check I'll be getting more Marvel (The store has a buy two get another free on Marvel graphic novels, so DC can wait.), and I'm thinking of picking up some Decimation books. Perhaps 198, and The Next Day. I was thinking of grabbing Blood of Apocalypse, is it worth it? Outside of those and the Runaways volumes I'm missing, I didn't see much else I wanted at the moment. I think I may actually consider following War World Hulk issue by issue, along with X-Men, starting at #200 (Gambit? Sweet action).
Any other fairly recent Marvel books I should look for before I start delving into new issues?
Don't get Blood of Apocalypse either, if you are thinking of jumping on X-Men with #200 then you may want to pick up the previous arcs in Mike Carey's run, starting with Supernovas.

Started reading Runaways thanks to this thread. Goodbye, money...
I'm with you there, man. Just bought Volumes 6 and 7 today, along with issues 25 and 26. So, I'm all caught up to the latest issue. I have to say though, I think I'm gonna miss Vaughan as a writer. But I'll give the new writer a fair shake.
Even if he completely ignored the face-off with Iron Man that was begun at the end of #24, and instead suddenly sent them to New York to meet Kingpin and The Punisher. Seriously, what?

If you want to try other stuff by Vaughn, Y: The Last Man is pretty much the greatest comic ever.

I always thought Ex Machina was better than either of those.
I haven't seen any trades of the latest incarnation of X-Factor. Or are you refering to the 90's version? I'm a fan of the series so I'd like to collect the trades if there are any.

I like Ex Machina and all, but dear jesus I love Y so much.

The new series is coming out in hardcovers as well as trades. The hardcovers hit a few months before the trades. The third one just came out.
Not sure if it's been mentioned but I thought that Cable & Deadpool was superb. Feel free to crucify me; I'm not terribly knowledgeable on this whole scene but I had great fun reading it.
Always loved comics, never liked the idea of buying them. But recently I broke down and began to read. I've read through quite a bit of Ultimate Spider-Man (Up to issue 102), Spider-Man: Reign, Amazing Spider-Man: Civil War (Dear God I love Spider-Man, if it weren't obvious), Batman: Hush (These two books were wonderful, a favorite of mine), and Civil War.
Obviously I'm deep into Marvel (Not just Spider-Man... But especially Spider-Man.), but Batman is always an option for me. So, my question to you, dear PAers, is where should I go from here? I'd prefer to keep purchases limited to TPB, because I don't want a bunch of single issues lying around and would like to have a complete (Or as close as it comes) arc contained in the pages.
I've been looking at the X-Men: First Class books, and perhaps other Civil War books such as New Avengers or X-Men. House of M seems to be a good purchase as well. And, are the Runaways good?
So, long story short, I'd like some really good TPB since I'm limited on money. Given what I've read and am interested in, what should I go for?
If you're deep into Marvel, and if no one reccomended it, and fuck, even if they did, get MARVELS. You'll thank me later. Also 1602, but that's less necessary
After lurking for about 3 weeks, I came across this thread. Thanks to you all, I just picked up the first volume of Runaways and the the hardcover volume 1 of Invincible!
They are both great comics and I can feel the comic addiction coming back. Relapse anyone?;-)

Man, what the hell?
That's not even out in trade paperback last I knew. And it's not even that good.
Of "the goddamn Batman" fame?
I think that series is Frank Miller laughing at comic fans. Seriously.
What are you dense? Are you retarded? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman.
