So I need a new captain for my Ultramarines force. Nothing wrong with the old one, really, but he was a bit high in points cost. That Combi-melta and lightning claw didn't really pay off when I allready have three power fists and a company champ in my command squad.
Anyway, I wanted this new captain to be more down to earth, without flowing cape and bling like that. Also, I wanted him to have more common gear. This guy is supposed to say to all them young marines that "hey, when I was your age I didn't need no flashy plasma guns or power swords to hack up some orks". You know, more bolter and chainsword. Still, a storm bolter costs 3 points, so I couldn''t resist getting one for him.
Also, I wanted him to be really zealous, so the story behind him is that he is a former chaplain that has been promoted to captain against his will. Let's just say this Ultramarine Captain isn't so much for tactics as he is for storming the breach.
Devastator Chainsword Arm! Best CCW bit in existence

The following people are amazing and I love them: Wildcat, Timspork, Kias, Denada, susan, Sharp101, [GHSC]Ryctor, Matev, Matrias, ItBurns, Slapnuts, Dayspring, see317, and the unknown poster that sent me a box of Death Company! If you get them as Santees you should buy them amazing things!
I bought some paints at GW for my orks. I plan to practice on these zombies first though.
Seen as they aren't GW minis I didn't really want to wait around for advice. So I have Knarloc, Goblin and Scorpion green. I'm thinking I do a base coat with Knarloc, then paint over with Goblin and then high light with Scorpion? Any suggestions?
Just working on their resin bases now. Although I might add a horizontal orange stripe on the side of the right dread, just to balance the orange between the two a bit more.
Thanks. I really like how the orange and green complement each other. Even though I'm playing a First Founding Chapter, I wanted to switch it up a bit. After falling in love with the orange I did some research and the 4th company actually uses orange as their, so there is some fluff to back it up :P
In fact, all my Sgts are going to have an orange right arm since the colour is so awesome. I think my Sternguard are going to have orange helmets. My Librarian will have a blue helmet and right arm. Tech marines will have red helms and right arm. That is unless any of those ideas look horrible after I paint them :P
Here's a small pic of what I think I'll work on next...
It all looks great, sharp. You and your green armies :P
Are those forgeworld autocannon arms? I'm trying to figure out how to make my rifleman dread without springing for forgeworld, personally.
Aegis quad gun or looting a bunch of sentinel auto cannons are probably your best bet
Yeah. I've got three sentinel auto's, which kills me that I don't just have one more. I'll probably end up bitz'ing it out, hopefully I can convert it decently.
Just finished painting my test Striking Scorpion, and I'm really pleased with how he came out. I need to sort out better lighting for taking photos though.
I'm not sure what colour to do on the teeth of the chainsword though. I don't want too much contrast though, so just a quick highlight of something other than the grey that's on the body of the sword. Any suggestions?

Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.
Just finished my first mini in like a decade. What do you guys think on the scheme? I want to use purple or green on the black bits and maybe the tongue, but I have neither purple or green paint at the moment.

Anyway:
Fisticuffs! Codpiece! Sideburns!
I kind of liked the marines. All of them have corvus pattern helmets, eh? Thats awesome and sharky. And the red stripe makes them pop.
Edit: oh, and thank you everyone for the kind comments. You shall be spared when the revolution starts.
Hazard stripes are the best thing about 40k
I just printed off a whole page of them for our Space Hulk board lol
Sweet! Where did you nab those babies?

But seriously, those look pretty awesome
Blah. Stupid GK. Silver paint and +1S for 10pts! :x
Mind bullets.
Also the ability to ignore shaken and stunned.
"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
My pair have killed so much stuff.
The green isn't quite as bright in real life.
- edit: I forgot to paint the eyes!

The orange works really well

They are technically ghouls, but anything is a zombie if you paint it dead enough, and those lil' fellas have a head start.
Their zombie line proper looks like this
By the way, everyone seem to equip their scouts with sniper rifles. Am I the only one who digs boltguns?
Oh I got a squad of those too

This is the best photo
My buddy just painted up his Stormraven.
He went over how he airbrushed on the weathering and all that here:

Has anyone converted Hydras out of the Aegis Defense Line Autocannons and have the 'box' they would have been on left over? They're the square(ish) panes on the sprue with the guns here:

Plus, I'm on the look out for High Elf Archer legs.

I just painted that one right now! The rest aren't even primed. My last mini was the slanesh winged prince when it was released, I think 98-99?
I need color ideas for the termagant guns. Would green look good?
