Walking Dead is a great show if only watch the first episode and then go "dang that sucks for those people."

I still liked Walking Dead even after it had some.. poor choices. Except for the scene with the two sisters in the boat.
Awful, awful writing.
So it was entertaining enough. Just not the best show. And for the second season isn't the guy who wrote the good episode(s?) taking over the show and writing more episodes than before?
Yeah, he fired the whole writing staff and is re-hiring from scratch
But he did a pretty shitty job hiring writers last time, and he still had to oversee the overall arc of the show, so I'm not exactly convinced the show's gonna be miraculously fixed with the fresh blood. But, we'll see!
Modern Family being nominated multiple times in so many categories makes me wonder if they might suffer for it - that old Indian adage of trying to chase two rabbits and losing both, ya know? Like, take a look at Comedy Direction. Modern Family has three friggin' noms in there. So even a voter who likes Modern Family is gonna have to pick a specific episode of the three, and the vote might get split. Which would be fine with me, seeing as how that specific 30 Rock episode and that specific How I Met Your Mother episode have legitimately fantastic direction, and I'd love to see one of 'em get recognized. (Not an overall commentary on the shows, mind, just on the nominated episodes)
Or Drama Writing. If Mad Man had just "The Suitcase" nominated, I would've put good money down on them winning in a walk. But since two episodes are nominated, I wonder if Game of Thrones or Friday Night Lights might sneak a win. The Killing won't, because that show has a whoooole lot of bad blood built up, but the other two might get lucky.
I am going to watch the start of Walking Dead season 2, but if it dosen't improve on season 1 in a hurry I will have no qualms dropping that shit. What a fucking waste of a fantastic pilot season 1 was.

No kiddin'. "Hey, did you like all that nuanced, well-crafted atmosphere? That tight focus and depth of character? Well too fucking bad. Time for caricatures, heavy-handed metaphors both verbal and visual (including somebody crying in the shower, which was played out by the 1950s), and plots that sometimes go nowhere and sometimes go way too quickly. Should be fun!"

i thought this season of modern family was kind of weak to be honest. the gay couple were basically irrelevant. the best episodes of that show involve all three groups in one overarching plot but there were quite a few episodes where the gays were off doing whatever slapstick "haha those homosexuals" stuff.

I can understand the people doing the Emmy noms not understanding Archer in any way
but the idea that the fucking Cleveland Show made it but Bob's Burgers didn't is a god damn war crime

Seriously.
Also: everyone in special effects and writing; please learn how grenades work and what their explosions look like.
Bale! How sad are you about the cancellation of The Chicago Code? I've been putting off watching the finale...
I was super bummed but the finale is great, and it's a decent place to end the show. I would have loved more but it dosen't leave you wanting, which is nice.

Too many people with absolutely no explosives or chemical background have killed themselves by mixing the shit they find in the edited versions of TAC or PMJB.
Because of this, studios no longer trust qualified effects techs, which leads to crap like that.

Yeah I really liked it despite all of it's flaws, but then again I'm a zombie nerd.
The scene with the two sisters was pretty terrible though.

Pooro addressed that at the top of this page.
Also I just finished watching all of Better off Ted and it was great. I miss it already.

Did the Wire ever win an Emmy?
No?
That invalidates your award.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

were they even allowed to show people taking showers in the 50s?

There were some very dark I Love Lucy episodes that Fox doesn't like to air anymore.
Sweeney I love you but Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead should only be mentioned in one sentence
and that sentence is 'Breaking Bad is infinitely, exponentially, unfathomably better than The Walking Dead'

When the inevitable day comes that Pooro, Novo, and I attend (and subsequently, sweep) an awards show, most of our footage will not air. It'll be worth it though to see the look on the presenters' faces every time they hear the "ka-chak" of several beers being opened in the audience.

If you update your Facebook to announce that you've been banned from an internet forum (or frankly, post anything about an internet forum), then you take this shit too seriously and deserve to be cracked across the head with your own keyboard.

Im not sure what Burden of Proof is smoking because aside from a couple episodes at the start, season 2 was much more serialized than the first season. (re: Justified)
I may have the two terms mixed up. I'm very dumb you see.

I think it's weird that they get Louie but not Archer, to be entirely honest.
I mean, Louie's my absolute favorite comedy on TV, but it's waaaaaaaay more surreal and difficult than Archer.
Seriously.

The best Bob's Burgers scene ever is the one with ziti.
It is amazing.
