Thats who I was waiting for. Derek can use Dungeoneering on the trap, but Streever is our traps guy. Anywho...
Derek Deepdelver, dungeon delver extraordinaire, floats over to the pit trap and begins to futz with its mechanisms. "Hmm. Yes...I see. Seems simple enough. What if I did...THIS!" Dungeoneering = 21
You spend a while futzing about with placing small weights and poking wedges into cracks. In the end, you're not really sure if you achieved anything or not. I mean it didn't go off while you were poking it, right?
"Well!" Says Derek. "I think thats got it....maybe. Who wants to try first?" He motions for someone to lead the way. If there are no volunteers, Derek will scoff and float over the trap feeling secure on his Floating Disk.
Arjhan takes a real good look at that trap pit. If Derek's not walking on it, she's not so sure she should either. After that exploding pulpit incident...
(In Derek's defense, he's not walking on anything. He totally loves floating around on his Disc with his arms crossed and cloak billowing out behind him like he's Magneto or something...)
2d10+1 → [4,6,1] = (11) damage plus ongoing 5 poison damage. Unless someone has a save granting ability, just roll saves and take damage until until you pass.
Arjhan tentatively leans forward testing her weight. Nothing seems to happen so she gives Derek a cheery thumbs and steps forward again, swiftly disappearing downwards as the floor opens beneath her and she is plunged 10ft to the spiky floor below.
Derek swiftly floats over to the edge of the pit and peers down. "Oh dear! My apologies. I thought I had it for sure that time! Alas. Do you need any assisstance?"
Can someone throw our Dragonborn a rope? Who is still with us BTW?
Also, I have been tracking internally my damage and surges. I'm assuming Arjhan can lay on hands at the ends of encounters or while waiting for doors to be unlocked, right? If so, I have 8/12 surges left and have 59 HP left, and would like to spend a surge to bring me back to full.
@Farangu@Streever@Fondor_Yards yous guys still playing or wut? Streever looks like a lost cause, hasn't logged on in a while. Time to hit up the recruitment thread.
In work with no books, but if that check clears 10ft then that's fine and you're over the other side. Will actively seek new recruits to replace the missing players tonight.
Hmmm, recruitment has been less than overwhelming. I'm off on hioliday for a week from tomorrow. When I return I am perfectly happy to keep this running as long as it takes for however many people are still going, but take this as your chance to call bail if you feel things are plodding too slow and you've lost interest.
Jam, I'm sorry to say this but I think I will take that opportunity to bail. Thanks for the game. It was fun to delve into the famous Tomb of Horrors but I don't think it lends itself well to the pbp format.
Sorry guys. I think I'm knocking this on the head. I had a look at how far we have gone and how far we have to go and we'll be going for years at this rate! Like Steelhawk said, good fun but just not really suited to PbP format. If I'm going to put more energies into running a PbP I think I'd rather it were something a bit more dynamic and suited to the medium.
It was good times and I have learned much! Thanks for playing.

If not, I'm unconscious at the bottom of the pit.

She motions to the open pit in front of her. "I'll hold the rope and then throw it to you when you're across. After you."

If Jam can find some more willing victims participants than I'm still willing.
