Crazy. So basically it's a phone with flash-based memory which can play music/films which somehow justifies paying insane amounts of money for very little storage, coupled off with a lack of features available on other phone models for subtantially smaller amounts of money.
Making a call, though, can take as many as six steps: wake the phone, unlock its buttons, summon the Home screen, open the Phone program, view the Recent Calls or speed-dial list, and select a name. Call quality is only average, and depends on the strength of your AT&T signal.

But I still want one, what the fuck.
Yeah, honestly if someone was like $50 and its yours, plus, $40 a month for service and you get everything.

Imagine if you were in some huge car accident and your very life depended on that phone call to emergency. And the iPhone is being all stubborn and shit.
Scary thought.
Those devices always look so cool on videos but then you realize there's nothing to do with them than to drag bigass elements around. I can't think of any semi-decent enough reason for having one of those.

On the one hand, these items are effectively the doorway into the next step in technology (motion/touch sensing)
On the other, buying things like the Surface and the iPhone are essentially cheap prototypes whos only seeling point is this "new technology." It would be much better off to wait until this technology is applied to more practical uses, rather than gimimcks.

shit, I got a Galaga cabinet right now that is about 1/3 of the way restored and set up to become a media center/games station, but I don't have the fucking room to work on it right now.
Maybe if you buy a new phone every year. I'm on my 3rd battery on my 4 year old Motorola.
I actually have 2, if I forget to charge it overnight (or if the damn plug doesn't go in all the way, piece of shit) I keep a spare battery charged so I can swap it out.
So there's no voice dialing... is there any hands-free option at all?
Or is this phone completely illegal to use while driving in CA.
It comes with headphones with a mic on the cord. The iPod automatically pauses music when you have a call coming in. The mic in the headphones is also pinch-sensitive - like you can pinch it to pause music, double-pinch to skip forward, pinch to answer a call, shit like that.

Money and features are top among them.

they put that technology on like
a kitchen counter
and it knew what you were putting on the counter
and displayed like the health facts and recipes when you put it down
whoaaa
Those haven't been around since the 70s or anything.
you'd have to like
put a microchip in everything
whooaaaaaa
and a garage
and then give it to me
I want one of those tables that plays every arcade and 8-bit and 16-bit game ever made. You know. Magically.
And serves as a media center/server for the rest of the house.
And is also a table.

So frustrating.
I've never ever replaced a battery in any phone i've ever owned.
well, some people don't know how to charge a phone properly and end up cooking their batteries
then they have to buy a new one, which in most phones is a fairly simple deal to replace.
I would not be surprised if the tech support people have wave after wave of complaints about how their battery is not holding a charge

Did you talk to the apple VP in a field test?
No.
No you didn't.
What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

Last time I'm doing it anyways. You people really are whiny retards.
Not in this forum we're not. That shit goes in there.
I didn't expect that.
...really?
