Like all other Murakama novels, it makes a good argument for a classical pessimist view of the universe

since the bad parts always seem to outweigh the good

Hmm, changing the first condition to ≥ 1 finds the ^1 correctly, although I am leery of Javascript's number handling anyway. It inherits all the flaws of floating-point messing-about without any of the benefits.

8^2 gives a two-digit number, and 9^2 gives a two-digit number, great. Does the question regard these as distinct? Because this phrasing does not:
The 5-digit number, 16807=7^5, is also a fifth power. Similarly, the 9-digit number, 134217728=8^9, is a ninth power.
How many n-digit positive integers exist which are also an nth power?

Once it gets to be nine pounds, I think it stops being a kitten.

So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.

yes, that phrasing does regard them as distinct

64 is a two digit number that is a 2nd power, and 81 is a two digit number that is a 2nd power.
