Is there a stone with all the stars of destiny that I've gotten listed on it anywhere, like in the first one? If so, where is it? I've looked around, but can't find one.

You'll get it later.
But tell me, isn't it awesome to get the vampire castle?
When I first played it with my friends, we ran through the castle and were all like: wow this looks so great, I hope our castle will be as cool as this.
It's good to see I'm not the only one who loves Sierra.
Also, I've been rocking out to the soundtracks for Suiko 1 and 2 lately. They're so awesome. Both the ending themes for the games are amazing, and you've also got gems like Reminiscence and Children in the Fields.
Just beat number 1. The dream team was: Viktor, Flik, Pesmerga, McDohl, Cleo, and Clive. Pesmerga was a fucking tank -- on the multi-target spell the last boss used, everyone took 1-200 damage, except Pesmerga, who took 7. 7! He finished with attack and defense in the high 300's.
I don't think it's worth getting all the stars in Suiko 1, the ending isn't worth it.
Blackjack is right, see above. Im not sure what stats some characters carry over from 1 to 2, but Viktor is currently a beast in my game. I can't recall whether this is normal or due to the fact that I transferred over data on this playthrough (I never have in the past in 4 playthroughs).
To clariify: This is a spoiler, but since this is an old game I dunno if it really spoils anything: 108 stars are not necessary to get mcDohl (the hero from Suikoden 1) in Suikoden 2, only a save at the last possible save point.
Oh hi! Remember me, the OP? I had to restart my whole Suikoden 2 file right after liberating Two River because I screwed up and didn't get a bunch of characters. I did make it back to there, and now I'm in the sidequest to recruit Hix and Tengaar. The mother of all fetch quests. >_<
Im about ~7 hours and starting the Tinto part.
Kindness rune glitch/Double beat rune makes every single boss save the Last one die in 1-2 turns.
Test run will probably be completed in ~9 hours.
Edit: Yeah the Hix and Tengaar subquest is boring. Good luck with it.
At least it's funny. I like how totally oblivious Hix is to the whole thing. It's pretty much a parody of typical RPG fetch-quests.
On an unrelated note, why is Chinchirorin so fucking HARD to win in Suikoden 2? I mean, it was easy to build up to a million bits in 10 minutes with it in Suikoden 1, but in 2 I had to reload multiple times to even get the 5000 required to recruit a couple of the characters. Not only are the bets limited to 3000 potch, but it seems like the computer wins almost all the time in 2 (whereas it almost always lost in 1).
It's because you can't exploit the game like in S1. For example, on an emulator, you can reload save states and essentially make Gaspar roll bad dice combos. In S2, reloading save states does nothing.

You can manipulate your rolls with save states. Getting triples requires just a little bit of guessing and reloading.
Can't you wait until you have Viki and the mirror to do the Hix/Tengaar quest?
Probably, but I like having my Stars as soon as possible. Besides, the hikes aren't THAT long, especially with Stallion in my party. :P
And whoever referred to save states: thing is, I'm playing this on my PS2, not an emulator. It still seems way harder to win in S2 than in S1 (I swear, in S1 he kept always throwing 'em out of bounds or getting triple-1s, I won all the time without even trowing the dice. That doesn't happen in S2.)
I'm just saying that the code is easier to work around in S1, than in S2. Regardless of it being on an emulator or not. It's exploitable as hell in S1.

Yeah, I can appreciate that.
Who's your favorite character right now?
Personality-wise... hm. I like Viktor for being an overconfident smartass. Plus he's got two of my favorite scenes in the game so far: his last drink with Anabelle, and the checking out of Eilie and Rina, followed by tackling of Riou, when you first enter South Window. That made me laugh. Oh, and when you confront Neclord, too! Yeah. Viktor.
As far as gameplay goes, I find myself so in love with so many of the characters that I'm constantly switching my main party around, so I never really get attached to anyone who's just GREAT in battle. Viktor and Flik both kick ass, but you can't even use them for like half of the game. Wakaba and Oulan are both really great in battle, and I use them a lot.
As an aside, what the hell kind of a name is Freed Y? How do you even pronounce it? Freedy? Freed why? Freed ye? I swear, between him, Lepant and Jowy, Suikoden is really carrying the torch of fucking ridiculous character names. :P
Humphrey will take less damage if you carried over his Windspun Armor. Oulan's a beast, but her Rune can only be used once =/.
Also, Freed Y stands for Freed Yamamoto. It's just shortened because the Suiko II character limit is like, what, seven characters?
Edit: Also, I demolished Suiko II, got up to the last dungeon, and got bored. I've already beaten it once but this time I got Tir McDohl and transferred characters over. It was still overly pointless.

Aah, I see... yeah, his whole name would only take 7 characters in Japanese (Fu-Ri-Du-Ya-Ma-Mo-To).
I got past Greenhill yesterday (56 Stars! More than halfway there!). I told myself I was gonna go to sleep at 11:15, and I saved in the Greenhill inn after the cut-scene with Flik pretending he's gonna kill Fitcher, figured I could get to another save point in 15 minutes, right?
Nope. You have no access to any save point after that until you finish the whole Greenhill quest. Took me about an hour.
There's a part later in the game where the only way to visit and revisit a certain Suiko I town is to trek back and forth through at least 5-10 mins of forest. Absolute worst trek in the game.

You also have to make that trek whenever you want to put McDohl in your party. With all the times the game forcibly empties your group for story sequences, it can get a little irritating.

Imagine the hilarious situations!
But really, never let anyone die. It ruins the good ending. And you want the good ending cause it is the most epic thing.
Just wait till you fight/beat him

I don't want that!

True. You can still get McDohl. The only requirement for McDohl is to save at the last save point, which is in
Also, in Suikoden 2, you cant't get a certain recipe unless you do this trick in Suikoden 1:

Suikoden was the first PS RPG I played, oh how I remember regretting that save immediately after Pahn went down in his duel.

You know, like Yoshino. It made sense in my twisted mind.
Oulan makes the game a joke.

God, all that running back and forth through the forest. Most tedious moment in the game.
Yeah, what's the deal with that?
Also, why the hell can't you teleport to it?
