1) He wasn't the speaking part of the three guys who won.
2) That would have been incredibly tacky.
What? Saying "thanks for the support from everyone at community" would have been tacky? People thank stupid things all the time in these speeches.
It would have been a little tacky to, while receiving an award for one project, publicly namedrop a completely different project that didn't involve the collaborators standing up there with you, IMO. But it's a moot point. Glad to see he'll have a quality career to fall back on if the worst does happen, though.

[/quote]Jacobs: Thirty seasons and a porno. Yeah, even our porno got pulled. It did.
Brown: What happened with that?
Jacobs: No one participating in it had ever seen our show. They had a Spanish bodybuilder playing Abed.

Gillian Jacobs should never be crying for reals, this is a travesty.
The thought of the cast crying makes me wonder if you could do a Community PSA in the style of those shelter dog commercials with the David Duchovny voiceovers and shots of caged puppies.
Like an impassioned plea for viewers paired with clips of Troy and Annie crying and Britta in her cage from the UN episode.
Eh... I'm kinda on their side. He should have gotten their permission first because I think it drifts out of parody when you're using someone else's parody character verbatim. It would have been nice for NBC/Sony to show some support but they probably felt like he abandoned the chain of command. I like to think that, had he asked first, they'd be 100% behind him and the kickstarted (but the webseries would be on NBC.com)

I've been thinking if Community got cancelled before season 4 (which it won't), it would be the perfect thing to kickstarter for a movie or something to provide greater closure. And it will make millions and have a paintball budget. And it could license all the music it wanted to. And Jim Rash would sell his Oscar to raise money for it and it would make so much money we could get more seasons.

He actually asked, first directly, and then through an agent, and he said he never got a response back. They just weren't interested.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

That's still not an "Ok".
"Can I have your cat?" No response.
"Can my friend have your cat?" No response.
"I'm just gonna take this cat."
Though an Inspector Space Time web series would be great. Maybe NBC will pick up the idea now?
True enough. My point is that asking wouldn't have improved their support of the kickstarter any over "abandoning the chain of command", because asking is exactly what he said he already tried.
The only way it seems that this could really happen is if the existence of the kickstarter somehow convinced nbc/sony to reconsider. I doubt that'll actually happen though.
I just don't think they are interested.
(Personally, I don't really have much of an opinion, because I haven't watched any of Season 3 yet. It just seemed worth noting from what I heard.)

They showed a commercial for Community's return during 30 Rock tonight that hyped up Jim Rash's Oscar win. Kinda odd, but at least they're actually promoting its return.

did he name drop community during the speech?
That is what masking tape and magic markers are for.
Unfortunately he didn't get to speak.

You're right, I changed it a bit to be more inclusive of faculty.
edit: then again!
...what is wrong with you.
Edit: stupid computer lag...

At the very least he could've said that it was an honor to win an award for best adapted Deanplay.
For the show's sake, I contend that it is not. :P
What do you mean? I was providing a helpful visual!
