we don't know what it was exactly but given the things that have happened between troy and britta
Since Britta only likes guys who treat her badly, Troy figured that the only way to disinterest her in "Blade" was to send her a genuinely loving, heartfelt message
so he texted his feelings for her, knowing full well how she would react

Yup, exactly this. I thought it was pretty obvious? Either way, brilliant little character moment. Donald glover sold it, too
Then britta realizing at the end and smiling and awwwwwwww
Jeff's speech was great, too. At first it seemed a bit forced, like "we have to push in a Jeff speech quick" but by the end it turned out really insightful!
and that's because 1) it was great and more importantly 2) I watched Blade so damned much with my best friend growing up. Like, I could probably say that I have seen it more than any other movie
man, I gotta give him a call. it's been too long

Also everyone acted out the themes of this episode really well throughout it.
Like you can pick up really early in the house how Troy feels about Britta's situation. And Jeff is showing his curiosities about Blade pretty much immediately at the table during the cold opening. Everybody did well

I don't understand
how do you know what the message was?

Geebs, this was a really good response given everything in the show. Good work
"... You wanna watch blade tonight?"
"yes."
Because I was absolutely thinking about how I wanted to watch blade again through that whole scene
...I'm going on Amazon to buy Blade right now.
