Oh here's one: HOW THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE/USE/LEVEL-UP GAYDAR?
I am the worst at this. Frustrating levels of bad.
It depends. Also going to DigiPen nearly broke me.
It turns out nerds have really bad social cues. There are some spectacularly flamboyant yet ENTIRELY heterosexual guys. @Rankenphile can back me up on this. One guy in particular. He's a cool guy and is very supportive of gays, but isn't gay.
Allegedly.
(I'd have bet $500 that he was and lost, apparently. I still dunno if I believe that.)
Who is what in the what now?
Talking about dudes at DP who act flamboyant who aren't.
Don't you know the one dude from my year.. RTIS guy... bigger fellow.
Very high voice with an incredibly distinctive laugh?
Nice as heck, but man I'd have wagered big he was on my team.
I'd probably know him if you pointed him out to me. "Bigger fellow" and RTIS don't exactly narrow it down a whole lot.
By the way, facetious, that thing Neville said about some straight dudes being really thick is more true than I realized, because I didn't even realize you were gay until this thread.
oh man...
8-)
Look, I'm decidedly pro-gay, so if anybody gets a pass on this one, it's...
Well, probably not me, but I'm still not gonna make a big deal out of it either way!
I was commenting on the phrase you used, not that you didn't realize ... oh nevermind. :P
I don't...
Oh.

TBH I don't watch a lot of "Queer TV" or anything (not sure if that qualifies).
oh god can I talk about how much a lot of queer film annoys the fuck out of me?
Sooooo much of it is stuck in the same tired tropes.
Side note, that's one reason Beautiful Thing is one of my favourite films, it just straight up goes, "Man fuck all that bullshit, let's just have an unrelentingly happy, fairytale-ish love story that happens to be about two guys."

This is going on my to watch list, then.
Also speaking of gaydars I have the best gayday for dudes
worst gaydar for ladies
I'll get to it when I run out of Who. I watched all of Matt Smith first and I've gotten through Eccleston and started-in on Tennant. I know basically nothing about it other than it takes place in the same universe and the name is an anagram of Doctor Who.
The best queer tv is Rupauls drag race. The worst is..
Actually in reflection i'm still not sure how I feel about The L Word. On One hand, it handled a lot of things well, but it also handled a lot of stuff poorly.

Yeah, me too. Although Trick is also pretty great for going the other direction and going ultra camp.
Also my favorite gay movie is probably Latter Days because it does talk about the topics of religion vs sexuality.
It has some really good actors in it too.
And it is one of the few films that actually makes me cry every time.

Captain Jack is the main character, or one of them
And it's set in Wales
Two facts alone that make it awesome

actually I haven't watched Beautiful Thing in a while.
I should rectify that.

I never watched it. Queer as Folk was pretty revolutionary at the time and while it handled some things terribly, it did address some things really poignantly.
And I must say it; the US version > UK version.
Sorry.
@Antimatter Well, what do you want people to ask you?
(This is a serious thing, because I didn't know a lot of transgender people before I started hanging around here, so I'm not sure what's okay to ask.)
We have a transgendered... actually I don't know the right pronoun here.
MTF so transgendered woman? She is awesome as hell. I don't know her well at all, but she is really cool (and brilliant).
TBH I don't watch a lot of "Queer TV" or anything (not sure if that qualifies).
Well... I DO adore Bravo, so I guess I do, but mostly their food stuff. Housewives of <All Cities> and such is boring to me.
It's a really funny show! I definitely recommend it! Look it up on Hulu!
It's not really a "queer tv" show I think, except that one of the main characters is gay.
actually I haven't watched Beautiful Thing in a while.

Come over
we will have a movies night
it will be fantastic~~~~
Shortbus
Shortbus was pretty good. It's one of those films I think I enjoyed more as I was watching it than on reflection? I got caught up in the emotions, especially the ending which is just such an absurd (literal) crescendo and release of pent up emotion, but in hindsight I didn't find it particularly memorable I guess.

If I tried to give you a big ole pick-you-up-off-the-ground bear hug would you scream and start hitting me?
just safer to assume people don't care
and as for the second, it depends on if i'm given fair warning in advance
I disagree. We don't talk much, but I think you're pretty cool. And have 0 reasons to be bummed or down on yourself, imo.
But I'm just a catty ol' gay, so my opinion doesn't matter.

No, although Ted Allen hosts Chopped. And I started watching it purely because he is awesome.
And I turned out to really like the show.
There isn't a lot of queer tv outside of Logo programming. And from what I've heard, much of that is so-so at best.
i have yet to conquer mars, sadly
Satans..... hints.....
have you SEEN Matthew Bomer?
Why do you think people don't care?
Second question:
If I tried to give you a big ole pick-you-up-off-the-ground bear hug would you scream and start hitting me?
Shortbus
Well, how did you know that you wanted to change genders?
there needs to be cupcakes.

What the fuck, North Carolina?
Yo nevs
can you cater this party??
I'll take your word over every person in my high school and a good chunk of my college class.

I dunno. But since I'm over 30 I'm gay-dead so I might as well be straight. Nobody loves nevs, a bloobloo.
I was sorta dating an entertainment writer dude in LA (although 2 dates hardly counts), but he's getting famous so he doesn't have time for me now.
It's a really funny show! I definitely recommend it! Look it up on Hulu!

I never said I wasn't the most attractive guy.
Cause, duh.
