I'm not so sure why Games Workshop FAQ'd in Frost Axes with a profile into the Space Wolves dex? They cost 25 points, and +2 strength, and are initiative 1. Powerfist is all these things, with better strength.
Oh well, I'll just take the lower AP and have it be a frost blade.
Mr_Rose83 Blue Ridge Protects the HolyRegistered Userregular
Rending autowounds on a 6 and he hit becomes AP2, or vs armour "any" roll of a 6 adds a further D3 to th penetration. So basically no change.
No Skyfire on jump troops, but they do get the Hammer of Wrath attack if they move/charge with their jump packs.
Things to note:
• Anyone with two pistols can fire both (Gunslinger rule p.52)
• Squadron members no longer autodie on immobilisation; in fact, they don't die at all, and leaving them behind is voluntary. Oh, and you allocate hits to squadrons then roll to penetrate, not the other way around.
• They finally implemented my "rapid fire x" rule concept in the form of the Salvo weapon type.
• Tau can apparently inflict markerlight hits with Overwatch, which makes me think there's nothing wrong with them using existing MLs to boost their Overwatch shooting either.
• All Flyers can choose to have the Skyfire rule on all their guns if they want, so that's how Marines kill flyers; use their own!
• Speaking of Skyfire, a model w/Skyfire can only snap shoot at non-flyers unless it also has the Interceptor rule.
• Still in the sky, missiles are a pseudo weapon type now, and Flyers can only fire two per turn, max.
• Back on the ground, walkers can Overwatch fire.
And that's all I remember for now, my copy isn't here yet.
Someone spell out exactly how Rending and Infiltrate work
Also whether or not Jump Troops get Skyfire (they should)
No change really, Rending is AP2 if you get a 6 to wound and +D3 to armour penetration (and +1 to damage as it's AP2).
Infiltrate is more or less the same as before - deploy at the end outside of 18" if in LOS, 12" if out of LOS (biggest change here is that there's a lot more rules about going in buildings*, and hiding in a building counts as being out of LOS). Or you can go in reserves and outflank. Whole unit (other than their transport) needs to have infiltrate if you want to infiltrate, so independent characters can't join them normally. If you come in via outflank you can't charge, and you can't charge on the first turn if you infiltrate.
Vaguely linked to this, Acute senses lets you reroll the board edge you come in on.
Jump troops don't get Skyfire, and have to decide if they want to use their jump packs in the movement phase, or in the assault phase. You can go forward, or up, but not both.

Oh well, I'll just take the lower AP and have it be a frost blade.
Powerfists are a specialist weapon, Power axes aren't - so with an axe you can still get the +1 attack for having a pistol.
*So glad we started building an Orktown, a geniune City fight with a ton of poorly built, intact buildings as opposed to just ruins looks like it could be really fun.

While unwieldy makes them I1, it doesn't inflict the other penalty of power fists (the "paired only" rule), so you can use it with a bolt/plasma pistol to gain an extra attack.
It amuses me that they went through the trouble of making Space Marine abilities only work on their own kind and then left Epidemius totally unchanged, including his rule that FNP goes to 3+, which is a 2 point bump now instead of just one. Plague marines with a 3+ FNP and poisoned/ignore armor saves weapons? T6 bikes with Hammer of Wrath that ignores armor saves ("all attacks ... ignore armor saves")? Yes please. Even just using the Demon codex, plaguebearers can get pretty buff and give Epidemius some nice ablative wounds.

Wasn't a Tau player was it?
There are some acts so ruthless, some deeds so unpalatable, that only the Vlka Fenryka are capable of undertaking them. It's what we were bred for. It's the way we were designed. Without qualm or sentiment, without hesitation or whimsy. We take pride in being the only Astartes who will never, under any circumstances, refuse to strike on the Allfather's behalf, no matter what the target, no matter what the cause.

How many Space Wolves players don't immediately throw away that attack for a stormshield anyways?
Oh, hey, because of the Challenges thing, Lukas the Trickster is now one of the best characters in the Space Wolves codex. Lukas challenges you, but you have to re-roll all successful hits against him. If you actually beat him, there's a chance his opponent is lost in stasis.

Harlies Shadowseer got nerfed. Now instead of the "you can't see us to shoot us!" they just get Stealth and Shrouded. Still the best source of anti-armor in the codex outside of Fire Dragons, and the best close-combat unit. Amusingly, they did nothing to the Runes of Warding, which still makes them the flat-out best form of psyker defense.
CSM Wings now make you Jump Infantry, as they should have from the start. (Previously, you just "moved as though you had a jetpack," which implied you could still be transported in a Rhino, etc.)
On the plus side, Tau Stealth Suits might be slightly more useful now with the Stealth and Shrouded rules. Boo to no target locks. Also boo to suits having Acute Senses still despite the fact that it does nothing for them. And why do Drones count towards casualties for morale? They are there to take the casualties in place of the Tau models!

Hah! They specifically noted that Vulkan's Chapter Tactics applies only to Codex: SM stuff and not allies.
Remora drone fighters get a 2+ cover save when jinking though because of the stealth field update, as do sniper drone teams in any sort of cover (or behind a unit). Krootox are now a lot closer to carrying an autocannon as they can get two shots at 24" even when moving.
The Target lock thing is really baffling though, almost wonder if they meant the vehicle one rather than the version used by things like sniper drones and railrifle pathfinders as well as battlesuits.

Dark Angels. His name was Zach. I'm sure he mentioned knowing someone who posted here, but it might have been a lurker or someone maybe?
Always interceptor guns on the fortifications, and I'm not sure if Flyers seem that big a of deal. They don't get a cover save if they want to shoot back at you and are generally lightly armoured.
Plus unless they can go on hover mode (in whcih case you'd shoot them normally) they might be pushed to shoot you more than once or twice a game with a minimum move of 18" and only 90 degree turns (not taking into account if you do hit them, they'll probably have to jink and spend one of those turns on BS1).
Interceptor guns will totally mess them up, shooting them as soon as they arrive from reserve and think Hydras are really the complete bane of flyers rather than something you need to counter them.
Or failing that, there's Space marine Hyperios whirlwinds from Forgeworld.
Anyone else with the book, that Warrior Acolyte in the Grey Knights section of the model showcase: is that new? I haven't seen that before, but I want one if they exist already.
Alright, so i have two boxes of Killer Kanz, a store was selling them at the old prices. Any suggestions for what weapons to put on these dudes? I was considering putting on a KMB from looter/burna boxes (i have two), but with the new Get's Hot rule, maybe that isnt so hot. Maybe i should have a squad of grotzookas and a squad of rokkits? Or have them all use different weapons?
Anyone interested in a stripped marine army which is covered in BT iconography? I'm willing to sell at a deep discount (like...$150 plus shipping, for a full army).
Pm me if you are, don't want to clutter the thread.
Saw the nerf to AAC vow then, Anon? Rage instead of prefered enemy seems like a huge hit to BT with everything already being so expensive. Actually think BA may be a better assault army now even with the FC/FnP nerfs now that death company are controable. The change to crozous for chaplans sucks ass though.
So we use the profile of the weapons in the BRB if it differs from the codex or not?
There's a lot more than the vow changes. Like the FAQ reversal where we now have to have an HQ and EC (previous FAQ's said we could use the EC as our HQ if we wanted too). The vehicle sodomy...Oh, and rage doesn't transfer to Neophytes? Come on...if you're going to make me footslog, at least let me do it well.

Depends on the FAQ/Errata; if it says use the ones from the BRB, use 'em.
As for Guard and Hydras, what about the Vendetta? Basically the ultimate AA; three lascannon that hit flyers on their BS say "fuck you, flyboy" something fierce. And, joy of joys, they can Hover too, so they won't get lost.
Oh I saw the other stuff for BT. Typhoons revert back to codex stats apparently too as that errata is gone now (None of the FAQs say use the BRB profiles outright for any weapon, only the confusing as hell line about the written weapon descriptions in the codex are "functionally identical" to the profiles in the BRB, but they are completly differnt stat lines so WTH?) I was thinking of redoing my Blood angels into more BTs for a while, now I'm thinking of shelving the BT till new book/counts as more BA/just redoing as more BA.
Sigh, 2 glances kills a War Walker now? Guess I don't need to worry about the new reserve rules if I'm not going to be outflanking squads of WWs anymore. :P
Edit: And of course the Eldar Missile Launcher doesn't get a Flakk mode, cause they're not Space Marines. :P

I don't think anyone's missile launchers have been errata,d to have a flack mode…
Also, am I imagining things or are hover mode flyers like the vendetta actually more manoeuvrable than the Dark Eldar flyers? Or do the pointy ear'd ones have the 'two turns rule' that allows them to 180° so they don't fly off the board?
Looks like none of the DE flyers get Hover mode or the vector dancer rule for the extra 90 degree turn. Storm talon doesnt get hover either but can do that hover strike special move I guess.
Vendettas/Valks/(Vultures too probably) all got better. Can be flyers untill you knock out any enemy long range shooting, then switch to hover mode where you always have 5+ cover save for being a fast skimmer anyway.
Also, goddam can guard break allies rules. First just being able to take two platoons is insane. Other option, CCS + two vet squads + 1 squadron of three vendettas if you really want to be a dick
Nob Bikers are back to being one of the best lists in the game
Ugh
Still need disabled access though don't they, and with the new focus on ruins and buildings that might be enough to rein them in. Plus there's less wound allocation shenanigans (best you can do is keep rotating the one guy who's wounded by an uneven number of shots to the back until he get's precision shot). Their armour and FNP saves translates roughly to being just 3+ saves.

I'm looking in the back of the rule book. Only SM Missile Launchers have a Flakk profile that I can see.
It's just the imperial missile launcher (everyone else has another name for it) and the entry in the weapons section says it only comes with Flakk if you buy the option to do so (which no one can yet). Just Frag and Krak are standard issue.

Arjac only got buffed as well because he HAS to challenge or accept and he rerolls hits against all ICs as well in his profile.
So my only recourse to get anti-flyer in my space wolves is to fucking ally my guardsman and put a squad of vendettas and/or hydras into it.
I don't really like that. I want to be able to take an all wolf army if I choose to and not be fucked in the ass by flyers.
"Oh what a day, what a LOVELY DAY!"
I mean really? I can't shoot regular BS at anything but flyers with them? Ugh.
