I like carrying the falcon when I play demolisher, cause you can just sit on your pylon and spam the shit out of it. Combine it with whatever high yield shotgun you like, or maybe a hurricane.
It's a good way to blow through your ammo powerups too; it's super noticeable when you freeze like six guys.
I'm going to sit here and throw grenades while my pylon makes more grenades and shoot grenades at you with my gun while my pylon makes more grenade ammo for my gun.
Pull my finger.
It works really well. Did a 4 demolisher gold run a little while back where we all had strikers and falcons. The general consensus was that the falcon edged out a bit. But other ammo-limited guns are also viable (Harrier, for example).
I've started using the Indra (which I have at lvl V) on my demolisher, as it's so light that I can spam pylon for my nades and I have TONS of sniper rifle consumables whereas I'm super low on AR consumables.
All right guys I found the magic combination for making the Typhoon work
And that combination is the regular human Soldier.
When you combine Adrenaline Rush's insane damage boost with the fact that it automatically reloads the gun without interrupting the fire rate, you basically have a class who's as dangerous with it as the Destroyer was pre-nerf. Just absolutely horrifying with AP Ammo III and AR Amp III. Atlases get burned down.
It's not quite as effective as it used to be in a Destroyer's hands, of course.... but it feels right. It feels horrifying. I took along a Scorpion to fight Phantoms and hoo buddy, that combination works on Gold.
But can't you still keep the same number as before in spares? Then the max increases.
Yeah, but less than one extra magazine is a pretty trivial upgrade for total capacity.

Haha, I actually just did this when I played last, too
as long as you stick somewhat close to an ammo supply box, you can just fire forever
It's a fun feeling when you're just sawing away at them, and then once the enemy has the audacity to drop your shields you kick in the stims and become even more powerful than they could possibly imagine

Me and a Demolisher had an understanding: he kept all the grenades, I took all the ammos.

Is the general player base getting worse/smaller/both? I haven't had a good gold game in over 2 weeks. I know a substantial portion of that is probably that I am not a fantastic player, but I'm not terrible either. Blackbird and I duoed a silver reapers up to wave 7 with a Drell Adept (no grenade gear) and an Asari Justicar (this was a while ago - I was the Adept). Not impressive I know, but trying to show that I am semi-competent.
Last night I joined a GWG lobby as my Asari Adept. 3 Tech specialists (I think 2 paladins and a salarian infiltrator). So I switch to my Justicar because I'll struggle to get biotic explosions with that many energy drains going off. One of the paladins switches to his Asari Adept and I think ok good this guy knows whats up, biotic explosions all day. I don't have a mic, so in true PC fashion no one talks, fine with this though. But this guy who I thought knew what was up, Nope, the guy won't even be anywhere remotely near to me. The only thing I could think of was he was concerned that I would get all the points from reaving everything, which whilst true, I would have switched roles and been the detonator all day because we might have got past wave 5. Not to mention the paladin who also thought he was a hero and would be off soloing shit on the other side of the map, usually dieing halfway through the rounds.
It's really burning me on the MP.
Not to mention the 5 Grall (the krogun shotgun) upgrades I've gotten in the last week or so. A weapon I will never use because my latency sucks.

I rolled a Falcon-equipped Demolisher the other night in a GWG and ended up with over 150k in points, which was more than the rest of the squad combined.

Does anybody here still enjoy playing snipers after the hard infiltrator nerf?
I haven't brought out the trusty ole' Valiant in a while because it just doesn't feel very potent anymore.
Sure its fine, but the Valiant is only good on Silver or below because of the gate. Play a salarian, max energy drain for damage to one shot shields on most enemies and roll with a Widow or Javelin for one hit kills.
It's more effective against Atlases than Banshees or Primes, for sure, especially at a distance, but when you fire from cover the accuracy problem isn't bad.
Its main advantage is that it effectively gives you a double-length clip and high damage.
Shit I liked it... better than on the Destroyer at any rate. ALmost no reloads, which helps out the gun a lot I find.
Big thing about the Destroyer though: Geth Primes do not stagger it out of the wind-up, so that's a pretty major advantage.

I got the Demolisher right after the Particle rifle, and they work so dam great together. With the bigger mag mod you get up to 280 at rank 1, so you can fire while in full charge mode all day long melting faces off.
I finally got the Talon I've wanted forever....and I have no idea what to put it on now. Ideas?
Secrets, lies, and tragedy. The trifecta.

it ignores armor already, so that +70% damage boost is brutal, and being able to fast reload really helps with the normally slow reload speed of the gps.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

I've had some good games with it scoped on a turian soldier specced for accuracy and headshot damage. Just destroys mooks. Still need a different gun to deal with bosses though.

You mean 180, not 280, right? And yeah, the Valiant doesn't really give a damn about shield gate and is still a solid gun on gold.
Woops I mean the Destroyer *I do use it on the Demo too, but it really shines on the Destroyer.*The ammo mod gets it to 180, the devastator mode takes it to 240.

What the shit, i decide to play around in the London levels in SP on insanity, figuring i'd blow through what with me owning multiplayer recently.
I was butchered to death. I don't remember insanity being this hard.
Same issue. I thought all my gold victories meant Insanity would be better. Its more like Platinum but without people to watch your back.
I find Insanity is all about rhythm. I was really struggling as an engineer on it until I thought about one night and went "Oh Shit". Shield or Barriers? Overload. Armor? Cryo Blast -> Burn. Too far away? Say hi to Mr. Valiant and Mr. Combat Drone! After that I don't think I died more than once a mission. Kai Leng was still pretty tough because you have to take EDI, who's easily the worst of the AI characters. Garrus and Javik all day erry day.
I reckon taking reave as a Sentinel's bonus power would make the best Insanity player. I plan to do this for Leviathan when it comes out.
I'm pretty sure insanity enemies are somewhere between silver and gold in terms of health/damage. But shepard is such a goddamn terror compared to multiplayer that they go down much easier. Also, in SP there aren't that many areas where enemies can spawn behind and flank you, which is a constant danger in multiplayer.
it was the smallest on the list but
Pluto was a planet and I'll never forget
the absolute biggest problem i had in sp was running out of ammo for shooty classes, partic in london
second biggest is that the ai squadmates are the worst pubbies ever, garrus might be everybodys best spacebro but hed be kicked out of a lobby in double-quick time
I say platinum because once my barrier is gone, 2 shots and I'm dead. At least in gold I can take a rocket with no shields and (barely) survive. Its my hp that I end up getting frustrated with, I can usually kill stuff fast if I don't get swarmed.
Engineer with bonuses to drone AND turret. Take short naps behind cover while everything dies
If you feel like not even playing fair, then max overload for area and shield drain for damage resistance. Tech combo everything.
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
The first time through was with my cannon infiltrator. I played on hardcore to start and swapped up to insanity midstream. Didn't have too much trouble really.
Then the ending sucked so I said 'fuck this' and went and played MP for a while. When I finally sacked up to play the SP again I had a better handle on how explosions worked and picked adept, and oh my god. It's like being an asari adept in multiplayer, only you can carry an assault rifle and a shotgun and maintain 200%ish cooldowns, you have two squadmates' cooldowns to use to set up explosions, and mobs don't dodge every other thrown power. Ridiculous.
Eat it You Nasty Pig. on

Also it does really feel like the MP population is degrading in terms of overall skillz. It's pretty rare to get a gold game that I don't feel like I'm dragging to a wave 10 completion; this is even true on GWG sometimes
Case in point was this gold/reapers/glacier I did earlier as a fury; the final score once I finally finished the wave 10 objective (luckily it was kill targets) by kiting everything in circles for ten minutes was me with 130k and change and everybody else with like, 50k. Granted glacier/reapers is one of the best combos for the fury, but still.

and it's effective i guess, especially when you have AR up
but i was really missing devastator mode's inherent fire rate and accuracy buffs
