So. Like, does ANYBODY even play this game? And if not, why not? And if so, let me know, because for serious I can get you entire armies for dirt fucking cheap right now.
But serious, what's the deal. This is basically Epic Fantasy, and to my knowledge I've never heard of anybody actually playing it.
Cheaper than expensive minis dirt cheap? Or raid the small change jar dirt cheap?
I don't play it because I don't know anyone who does, but I think a big part of the draw of epic is the titans, which this doesn't have.
I can get a confirmed price today, but my local game store has a ridiculous backlog of these inherited from the previous owners, and they want NOTHING more than to be rid of them. I could probably talk them into letting the starter kits go for five or ten bucks apiece. Hell, they gave me an empire starter set just because.

Oh fuck yeah. Rank, if you can get a good idea of what they have, I'm definitely interested, even with shipping (back) to the UK. You take paypal, right?
I went through a phase where I desperately wanted to own these tiny, tiny men and make them hit eachother for my amusement. I didn't have anyone to play it with, of course.
That doesn't mean I didn't want to buy it, that just meant I wanted to buy two armies so I could *create* people to play it with, sort of how I handle Warmachine.
I stopped, though, when it was too much trouble to find armies on the cheap.
If you could get me starter armies at 10 bucks a pop, I'd buy several. If you could get them for me at 5 bucks a pop, I would probably buy one of every army you had.
If you had things besides starter armies of equivalent cheapness, I would probably giggle merrily.
i played warmaster , quite a while before trying fantasy it never really stuck with me and my game group. I picked orcs and the few games i played i efinatly didn't do well. espeicaly with how the giving orders etc to each unit for it ot activate and if you failed you wouldn't beable to activate any more units, needless to say orcs and low leadership led to not passing many of these tests.

look up specialist games the rules and every thing should be there

Wikipedia has a brief yet strangely unsatisfying article on the game and the "army sets" are here on the UK web store.
Note that that Wiki article is horrible and I'd revise it myself if I were that way inclined. However it does cover the basics of ordering (essentially a leadership test), which allows for movement and shooting, but it doesn't cover the damage mechanism, which is essentially the same as Epic's, nor does it even scratch the surface of the different things you can do with a successful order (other than move a bunch o'guys a wee bit).
Those are the 'starters' Rankenphile was talkin' about?
Because I could probably send him some money for them, depending on what they do cost and what the shipping would probably be.
Edit: Although I doubt anyone here plays the game, so, maybe not.
Which is why you buy more than one army, to create a playerbase by seduction and murderous force!
But I am pretty broke
And those armies are not free

alright, I was at the game shop last night. I was mistaken in that the starters are listed at around $45 before the 40% markdown, the booster packs (2 blisters each) are listed around $8 before the 40% markdown.
However - I'm close friends with the guys there, they can't fucking give these things away, and I'm hooking them up with a computer next week so they can actually keep track of their shit and list stuff on ebay that doesn't sell otherwise. I'll talk to them and see if I can't arrange a deal - would $20 for starters, $5 for boosters sound reasonable?
I'll get a full inventory from them, too, as soon as I can.
It isn't "holy shit buy them all" like it previously was, but it is still definitely worth looking at the inventory for, so that I can pluck out some gems.

High Elf one what?
Actually, at that price, I'd be interested in almost all of their stock and your elves Sharp...probably, anyway.
Depends what they've got...

Thanks for the update.
It's not the wait that's the problem, it's lack of information. This is always true, regardless of the circumstances. That people say otherwise is just another peculiarity of human psychology.

Yeah... Can you find out how much it would cost to ship one of those to the UK? Also, did you want US or Canadian dollar equivalents? I know it used to make a difference with the exchange rates, but these days I'm not so sure...
I might try this game with my gf later today using counter.
I've read through the rules a couple of times, and it doesn't really seem all that fun to play so I wanna give it a shot and find out what the deal really is.
Love the minis tho, especially the araby.

alright, folks, regarding what's for sale and what the prices are:
They're down to three starter army boxes - Orcs & GOblins, Dwarves and Undead. Prices are 26.40 + tax (includes the 40% off discount, he's not willing to go lower than that yet for some reason).
He's got a ton of booster sets, listed at $4.80 and $5.40 each... I'll have to check which is which, but most of them are the $4.80 price. They are as follows:
Orcs and Goblins
Goblin Wolf Chariots (x3)
Orc Boar Riders (x2)
Wolf Boys
Warlord on Wyvern (x3)
Black Orcs (x2)
Ogres (x3)
Giant
Warriors
Chaos
Spawn
Marauders
Harpies (x2)
Undead
Skeletons (x3)
Her w/ Dragon (x2)
Sphynx
Carrion
Chariots
Empire
Flagellants
Knights
Cannon (x2)
Dwarves
Gyrocopter
Cannons (x2)
Trollslayers
High Elves
Repeating Bolt-thrower

I really wish I was saying that sarcastically, but I'm not. I'm broken inside.
Starter kits for $10? Count me interested.

I read this, and said to myself, "Okay, no problem, my primary interest is..."
Pictures of armies and their names flashed through my heads*.
Orcs...? Undead...? Empire..?
Dwarves
wait, damnit.
But my primary interest is also other armies that can fight the Dwarves, so I'm actually not picky at all.
*I noticed this typo after I posted, and instead of changing it will just note that I am also interested in Chaos.

I can't find anything like that on the GW site.
