Yea, it's incredibly versatile in the controlling aspect for having decent damage dealing capability. At will slide/prone/slow, at will AoE, and encounter immobilize/daze. Plus Cloud of Darkness from being a Drow is nice for "blocking" an escape route or if she gets into a pile and misses a stealth check (I roll horribly, so I always plan for this).
Yeah. Should have pretty decent synergy with TRV, too, which is a plus.
Ulvein grew up in the Drow Enclave hidden deep within the Shadowfast Wood. There he was trained as a courier and assassin. Like most drow boys, he was alternately ignored and abused while growing up. The females made sure he always knew his place. Even knowing that other races' females are rarely in power doesn't make him any less subservient when around them. It's hard to undo nearly two decades of mental conditioning.
Ulvein was never meant to be a Tribute. During his first trip outside the Shadowfast Wood, he happened to be delivering "medicine" to Mithralfast the week before tributes were to be selected. He was caught carrying illicit materials. Seeing a way to get rid of an undesirable and save one of their own, the authorities volunteered him as Tribute.
He is bitter that he has been forced into this situation. He is angry that he has failed his mother. He hates the other Tribute he is traveling with. But most of all he is determined to get back out of the dungeon and take vengeance on those who have done this to him.
What he doesn't know, until moments before he enters the dungeon, is that his mother sold him out to the authorities in Mithralfast. She exchanged an unwanted son for more freedom to operate in Mithralfast and the surrouding areas.
A small price to be able to sell even greater poison.
Whoops! Forgot to put all that unnecessary crap like HP and such. Because I'll never ever get hit, right? Right?
It's possible to make it damn unlikely on an Avenger tbqh.

I gotta say, I really like the AC boost I get from not using heavy armor/shield from that armor of faith ability.
I also gotta say, I am really looking forward to this. Hope I get picked for the Reaping
Okay, quickly. What is it I need to make? I should be able to carve out some time today to whip something up in the character builder, but I just couldn't be arsed to deal with all the mind-changing going on here when I had a dog throwing up all over the house last night.
You don't need a rogue. You have an executioner trained in Thievery, isn't that going to take care of your trap-and-lock needs?
Sometimes I have ideas for things.

We're at 4 strikers, 1 defender, 1 leader submitted. Warden and Valor bard on the latter, and one striker's a hunter, so we have strong control assistance depending on who gets accepted. Work around that, OL.
Away from My Life as a 23 Year Old Jewish Drug Lord Burger Flipper (Working on the Pilot for ABC to replace Modern Family) and back to D&D, for my encounter power, should I get Frostbind or Tempest Breath? I'm working on an idea that my Dragonborn is a white scale dragonborn (which is known as an Io Blessed Color) and has a thing for cold. But with my Draconic Resistance, Dragon Breath, and my At-Will Dragonfrost covering a good part of the whole "Coldass Honky" flavor, I'm not sure if I want Tempest Breath (a Acid type attack). However, Tempest has a special thing that lets me gain concealment and on hit causes the target to not be able to get CA on me. Frostbind causes -2 to Reflex and does more damage. Any ideas?

I guess it depends on how many people in our party have attacks vs Reflex.

Correction to my count: 3 strikers, 1 defender, 1 leader, 1 controller. Hunter is formally the last of those, now that I have CB open.

Submission Breakdown, by role: Defender
Me, w/ Warden, minor in controller Leader
SirFab, w/ Bard Controller
None yet. Some interest. Striker
TRV, w/Pursuit Avenger
Slayer of Dreams, w/ Hunter (Ranger, minor in controller)
GG w/ Dragon Sorceror
Did I miss anyone?
Campaign set-up friendly suggestions:
Things with THP generation
Thievery trained
Non-surge healing
What is THP generation? Temporary Hit Points? I was looking at Ardent, which I think has a few things like that.
Yes, temp HP. I mean something like Battlerager or Warden which has no difficulty in accumulating them. Even with a Valor bard around more is probably wise in a dungeon environment.
And GG, I'd go with Tempest Breath. The reflex set-up isn't bad (you have in theory got some really nasty Ref-based zones coming) but Tempest Breath is really darn good, and AoE. Frostbind's okay but we have single-target specialist classes available. :P

Ardent's pretty decent, actually, but I am speaking more of bring-your-own THP stuff for those still thinking striker or defender. As a secondary leader to a bard, Ardent's darn good, as it's second only to Warlord in terms of doing damage itself and / or creating more for people, though Stalker Shaman is also more than solid at the latter.

For my third At-Will, should I go for another weapon attack that generates THP--but is more likely to miss due to my low strength--or should I go for an implement attack (more likely to hit) that gives the enemy a -2 penalty to attacks for a turn.

If you have a THP generator already, I'd say the attack penalty would be also good. No need for additional temp HP if they can't hit us!

ALSO, quick mechanics question:
If I do an at-will melee power, i know I add whatever ability mod it calls for. Do I also add my weapon proficiency or whatever to it as well?
Like for my halberd, I would add an additional +2 to my roll?

Will fill this in later. Again, the abbreviated version is that Torbera has been raised as a tribute by the dwarves of the Obsidian Shrine and is haunted by dreams of an entity most resembling a volcano goddess.

Dragon 383; I'm pulling it out of Character Builder. It's infamously silly; pushes an enemy and grants someone else a basic attack during the move.

Vicious Mockery gets my vote for most awesome Bard power name. Narratively, it's hilarious when you trash-talk someone to death as well.
But yeah, if jdark doesn't have access to the character builder, providing information is going to be a bit of a challenge. Specific powers and feats and things are printable from the CB, I'm just not sure what the legal footing is. I *feel* like the intent behind making it easy to export specific powers into a nice, friendly format is exactly so you can share the content specific to your character with your DM.
You can print it as a PDF. I'm not sure of the "legal" of that, either, but they have a "Print" option in the CB, so I imagine if they didn't want you printing it they wouldn't have included that.
Just make the Character Sheet show all the appropriate item/power cards so that jdark can easily see everything he needs to.
So, I am having a hard time coming up with a "damaging" Ardent. In my mind, the Ardent would be someone trying to support the party. If people don't think we need more support (reducing defenses, granting THP, etc.), I will make a Battlerager instead. That's something I can get behind (RP) as a damager.
ALSO, quick mechanics question:

Also half of your level. It's not relevant atm, since we're level 1, but once we get to level 2, you get that +1 bump. I've seen people forget this occasionally and they wonder why their attack bonus isn't keeping up with everyone else's.
