The Scottish were badass. Especially Robert the Bruce.
On his deathbed in 1329, Robert the Bruce asked that his heart should be carried into battle against the "Infidels" because he himself had not been able to go on a Crusade. (Removing internal organs after death was a common practice in those days). Bruce's body was buried in Dunfermline Abbey and when it was exhumed in 1818 it was found that his ribs had been sawn through, indicating that his heart had indeed been taken from his body.

I have since rewritten my will to state that I want my heart cut out of my chest, dipped in gold, and carried before the armies that strike at my enemies.

they were about to march to london. london had nothing but a skeleton army. but their "intel" said that the entirety of the english force was at london. by the time the scots would've arrived at london, then their french allies would've arrived as well. instead they all went home and got routed and utterly defeated on the way back. it might've been a scot/french victory but its still close enough
