Instead I spent the last hour fighting with my cable modem because Comcast can't make something that doesn't fuck up completely every 2 or three days.
And guess what? Still not 100% fixed.
FUCKING HATE THIS PIECE OF CRAP!
I mean my old shit was DSL and it was slower but at least it was consistent 5 to 10 mbs. Comcast ranges from 52 to .005 mbs depending on its fucking mood.

If it was my stuff I wouldn't have cable. I can survive slower speeds if they consistent.
Of course I also wouldn't have TV or a lot of the stuff my folks have because they pay for it.
I am more pissed than usual because I actually had plans to be online and play with folks tonight.
But instead I have spent 2 hours now fighting with this fucking modem and trying to get the internet from 1990's level of suck.
It will pay for its self in under a year and it has outstanding performance. Drop in replacement and comcast officially supports it so you can still call and bitch and make them fix connection problems without being blown off.
Convince my parents. I don't care. I am out in 2 weeks if things go right to the other side of the US and they get to deal with it.
One the phone with Comcast, they are sending us the same modem you are recommending.
