I had some indian food like six months ago.

    It was okay.

There's this Indian place in Berkeley that I go to every once in a while. Vic's, it's called. It's some of the best food (Indian or otherwise) that I've ever eaten.

The place looks like a warehouse, but the food is so awesome.

As a general recommendation, I highly recommend checking out a Persian/Iranian restaraunt if there are any in your area. They make amazing stews and kabobs.

Okay this is a recipe for the most amazing chocolate based drink I have ever tried. My sister-in-law got it while she was in Barcelona.

    Castillian Hot Chocolate

    Serving Size : 6

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

    1/2 C Cocoa (powdered)
7 teaspoons Cornstarch (cornflour) -- unsweetened
    1 C Sugar
    4 C Milk

Mix the cocoa and sugar together.

Dissolve the cornstarch (cornflour) in the water and combine with the
cocoa-sugar mixture in a medium-sized saucepan. Stir this until it is a smooth
paste. Begin heating this mixture, continuously stirring it with a whisk.
Gradually pour in the milk. Continue stirring as you bring it to a simmer.
Simmer, stirring often, for about 10 minutes. The cocoa is ready when it
thickens and is glossy and smooth.

awesome, I've been looking for a good hot chocolate recipe for this weekend.

I will probably add a little evaporated milk and a touch of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of either mint extract or cayenne, but this sounds perfect

I'm also picking up some powdered dark chocolate to mix in with the stnadard cocoa mix to give it a little more oomph

SO THATS HOW THEY DO IT!!!

I had churros y chocolate a couple times when I was in Marbella and it was so thick and delicious perfect for dipping said churros in. I never even thought they thickened it with corn starch... it seems so weird but but so brilliant at the same time. Now I just need to learn to make delicious churros!

PS don't try and shortcut by adding the cornstarch to anything but cool water, you will end up with a lumpy mess.
