It's kinda hard to play when you die on Day 1 to a random kangaroo beating, and in purgatory, for the first 3 days, my vote didn't count for shit when the psychic players all had 2 votes each and there were more dead good guys than bad. I wasn't allowed to contact living players to make contact with "evils", and by day 4 or whatever, I fucked up my account on the proboards. By the time I realized and Joop contacted me, it was already day 9 or something. Anyhow, I guess grudge voting exists for a reason, I don't mind either way.
Based on what Plut has said, we don't really have "bad" guys. We have houses. Some houses may fit the role usually filled by bad guys (i.e: low numbers, all know each other from start, have kills) but people's win condition isn't to kill the baddies, it's to be the last house standing.
But at this point in the book, not many of them are being used/mentioned much at all.
I think it is likely more house based, such as Stark, Baratheon, Lannister, Arryn, etc. Also there could be dudes chillin over with Daenerys, Viserys, and Khal Drogo on the other side of the world. But I don't know how that would work.
I would guess that the houses are the ones claiming a kingship in the books wheter its the Iron Throne or another.
Those houses would be Baratheon, Lannister, Targaryen, Stark and Greyjoy. Possibly Arryn, Tyrell and Martell as well for the sake of game mechanics if you wanted more big houses.

I don't recall Greyjoy really making a claim to the Iron Throne. Mainly they want their independence and little more. Tyrell and even Martell have made more moves towards the Iron Throne then Greyjoy. I really don't see why you would call out Greyjoy.
Also, Stark doesn't lay claim to the Iron Throne even though they're one of the major opposition to the Lannisters.

Eh, Dorne made just as much a claim to a throne as the Iron islands did.
I'm not really sure how to break it down for purposes of the game. If we're dealing with the south we're likely talking about a Lannister/Bartheron brawl but I have no clue how the Starks fit in. I can't really believe Plut would leave them completely out of it.
The Lannisters are painted as the "villains" for most of the first book. The Starks are the protagonists of the story and are generally honorable.
Barthereon are a mixed bag. Robert was a cool guy until he became king and was pretty bad at it. Not as bad as the guy he replaced but he basically ignored everything he could. His son (via a Lannister woman) is a giant douche. His brothers are night and day. Stannis is a huge prick with a stick up his ass, Renley is a pretty boy who hasn't really been tested in any serious confrontation.
So maybe we should look for a Stark to lead the charge? Although, if it is truly five or seven teams, no one will take the lead and this is going to be one big clusterfuck. I'm just going to read every other post to try and stay involved from here on out.
My advice:
See what tomorrow brings and then respond in kind.
Generally, when we have had faction-based games, someone on either side pops out to start a network for their team and everyone is basically hooked up with one another by day 2 or 3.
The thing is, there are probably a fuckton of groups this game (hell, especially if what cj iwakura is saying happens to be true) and I am willing to bet that they all don't have vigs/seers/guardians. There would be a ton of specials if that was the case.
Then again, I've never read the books, so I have no idea how many specials we could have running around out there.
Well we also need to know what the win condition for the village is
Be alive at the end. I suspect their is no village, like in FFT phalla. The real question is what/how are the teams broken down. Do we have x sides evenly divided or does one team or the other have an advantage in numbers or abilities?

C'mon!
We can vote for Regent, though. You want to be Regent?
Jester, I'll throw a vote down for you later tomorrow. I want to make sure DA is clearly in the lead.

This was limited to 40 people. How many factions are there in the books? 7? That number sounds right for some reason.
If so, we have 7x5=35. Those are the teams, plus five bad guys.
Anyone who knows the books have any insight.

I removed the only other thing but I don't think it's really a spoiler but eh.

This is going to be an interesting phalla.
Are there any houses which are obviously or inherently evil?

but really, theres no way not to like the Starks.
I never liked the Targaryen though.
Out of forty players.
Unless we're talking unbalanced factions, that's a lot of groups.

I'm surprised we haven't had a reveal yet.
