C4, like most explosives including shit like gasoline, is flammable but not particularly dangerous if simply lit on fire. It requires a little primer charge, something to break it up, vaporize it, whatever, to get a critical air mixture for it to transition from burning to exploding. Who knows what happened to the c4 after the guy put out a joint in it in the Vietnamese fire department. Maybe it fell of the floor and exploded. Maybe someone tried to put it out my stomping on it and triggered the explosive reaction. Flaming C4 would just need to be broken apart a little. Maybe there was only a tiny explosion and everyone was rightfully afraid of it and the place burned down pretty conventionally. Or maybe the story isn't true.
Point is, reddit is a terrible place where people are rewarded with points for snide, ostensibly accurate debunking of stories where there's absolutely nothing at stake and no reason to be so shitty about everything.
