Just as a warning I found Bret's book incredibly pretentious at times. It's not bad or anything and has some great stories but man does Hart have an ego the size of the moon.

Frankly, given that his family was legitimately treated like Canadian royalty and he was raised from birth to be a big deal in wrestling, and then became a legimate big deal in wrestling and the victim of one of the biggest betrayals ever, I'm shocked his ego isn't bigger than it is.

And having a huge ego is essential to becoming big in wrestling at least in the old days but you don't have to broadcast it. Ricky Steamboat never had to brag how good he was later in life, he let his body of work speak for itself.
According to a recent interview in the NJPW Bi-Monthly magazine (via enuhito.com) AJ Styles spoke about his schedule for 2016. In the interview, Styles stated that he worked too many matches around the world (US, Japan, UK, Italy, Germany and so on) and that the overload led to his lower back injury. That injury has caused him to miss dates during the World Tag League Tournament. Styles said that in 2016, he will focus more on ROH and NJPW, and reduce the number of independent dates he takes.
This is the day after the ECW PPV December to dismember
The next day, December 4, Heyman and McMahon among those flying to Charleston, South Carolina, Heyman pitched opening the December 5 ECW show with Ariel and Kelly in a match, telling viewers interviews with Lashley, Van Dam, and Punk were going on right then and would be seen later in the show. McMahon didn’t like the idea, fearing fans in the arena would chant for Punk. Heyman asked why that was a bad thing, as it showed the fans cared about someone on the flagging ECW show. McMahon reportedly threw his glasses on the floor and shouted, “Get this through your thick fucking head—my focus is on Bobby Lashley and only Bobby Lashley! That man is the brand's icon, the brand's superhero. He is ECW and he will be, at the expense of Rob Van Dam, CM Punk, Test, and everyone else, and you can hit the door if don't like it!”
TL;DR: McMahon wanted Lashley as the ECW Main star regardless of all the negative feedback he was getting from the crowd and people backstage.“

If that's true, and watching how WWECW was booked I have little doubt it is, then I really don't think Apollo's race will block him from a push. His height, however...
John Cena is 6'1", 251lbs
Seth Rollins is 6'1", 217lbs
Apollo Crews is 6'1", 240lbs
Any wrestling company that doesn't see money in Apollo Crews should get out of the money-making business.
His mic skills are still in question to be totally fair. He has been showing good fire recently on NXT though, hopefully that's a sign he can go away from "smiling baby face".

I mean, they're not great, but WWE nearly got Bobby Lashley, with the most high-pitched voice in wrestling history, over as a massive babyface, and Crews has a similar look and even better wrestling skills. The important thing about his "happy dude" promos is that at least they sound sincere, so fans will connect to him.

I don't think it will be a problem.
I honestly didn't realize Crews was that tall.
They might be embellishing. Maybe in boots he's a bit over 6 feet tall.
It's crazy how a lot of the people that look small on TV are really 6'1" or 6'2". I remember being surprised on how big Road Dogg was when I first saw him up close.
When I saw Roman at Axxess I was shocked that he looked so small. I know he's just over 6 foot and fairly ripped, but in street clothes he looks like a normal dude. Not nearly as big as he looks on TV.
They've given Daniel Bryan one of the biggest Wrestlemania moments of all time, and CM Punk held the top belt in the company for over a year. Apollo is considerably more built than they are, and can do crazier shit in the ring. I don't know if he has the mic skills that Bryan or Punk had, but I think "he's too short for the WWE" doesn't carry that much weight anymore.
I can imagine it, but then I need to go sit down for a while.
Would you rather see Roman pinning Brock?
Assuming they actually built Roman up properly this time (which they're already screwing up, but they have time to reverse), actually, yes. Yes I would. It would make story line sense since Brock didn't beat Roman the first time, though he probably would have, and would actually put Roman over as a big deal if he goes toe-to-toe with Brock (not getting his ass beat like at 31) and wins.
That's not to say they would do it right, but they could, and I'd be far more into that than Brock vs Sheamus in either a "foregone conclusion" (Brock manhandles Sheamus) or a "yeah...right..." (Sheamus wins) match.
Or the Cena thing. But with Cena likely facing Taker, Brock is the smart choice for Reigns.

I don't know if that says more about me or the character name though.

They'd be promoting it as Brock going after winning the title again.
