showing off the online lobbies, fishing and soccer minigames, interactive tutorials and teaching minigames, story mode, and still no actual gameplay of dizzy.
It's still not as good as really nice sprites, but they did crack the code for their budget and style. Way more actual animation than old GG games. If they could pass those tricks on to SNK, we could get some very pretty KOF and SS games coming down the pipe. Hell, if they're testing the waters with Last Blade 2, I'd take that as well.
Oh man, Korean Starcraft. Don't even get me started. Brood War is still, and will likely forever be, the greatest and most definitive realization of esports as an actual thing. I prefer old OSL reruns from the 2000s to almost every currently running competitive game on the market.
He's been saying "on hold" or "cancelled but not really" for like 5 years now. Always with a different excuse. Now it's because he doesn't want to split the fanbases or some nonsense, as if SF players would go near a 3D fighter anyway.
And after T7, it's going to be another Soulcalibr, so it's not like they could even work on it.
Oh, right, and they say they're going to patch the MB steam release for better netcode. So that's good.
Wasn't there a Samurai Shodown for the 360 a few years ago that kinda flopped?

that was samurai shodown sen, i believe, and yeah it got a pretty lukewarm reception
i played it a few months ago for nostalgia reasons
the stages were pretty bland, the character design left something to be desired, the visual effects during combat were kind of weak, and the move lists were fairly basic
there was some sort of 3d movement thing they were trying to do but it felt somewhat stiff and awkward, though that just may have been my inexperience with 3d fighters in general
all in all just kind of a bland version of samurai shodown with a few decent elements but no real polish
at least there were fatalities or whatever but even those were pretty half-assed for the most part
Samurai Shodown Sen was developed by K2, who are mostly known for their work on the Tenchu games. I like the Tenchu games, but the combat always felt floaty and awkward. The combat in SSS felt, sadly, very similar.
Namco should shock the world by announcing Soul Calibur X Samurai Shodown as their next fighting game. I think both series would benefit from a refresh.

Throw in last blade and you have all my money sir.
My favorite Street Fighter character Guile is coming back in SFV this month, and my favorite GG character Johnny will be playable in Revelator. Is this heaven?

You say that as if 2D and 3D fighting game fans are somehow generally mutually exclusive to the extreme, as opposed to the majority of casual buyers who look at it and go "oh hey, Street Fighter is on the box that's cool there's some cool stuff going on here"
Besides, the timetable just wouldn't work for development of TxSF anyway, given how meteoric SF is and, you know, Actual Tekken coming out in the near future
Posts
Looking forward to this in the next sfv patch.

Infiltration has seen what Street Fighter could be with Starcraft.
It's weird.
