I foiled a tortoise's escape plan today. Dummy was halfway across the road in a pretty busy suburban road. So I pulled over and picked his heavy ass up and took him back to his likely origin.

"Dammit, not again," said the lady who answered the door.

Yes, that's what it looks like. You can see his hands pop to hilt position as he starts to stand.

What's frightening about that is basically all professional race track drivers do that whenever they can. It's like 12% faster to be essentially adjacent to the wall, and these guys do that like it's as easy as breathing. I get fucking nervous if the guy next to me skirts the line of his lane! Fuck getting millimeters from a damn wall!

It's a badge of honour if you can smudge the writing on your wheels against the Wall of Champions at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit.

That's pretty awesome, using not-even-napkin physics I would have thought it'd be slower, but my brain is being especially stupid today!

Also is it me, or is there a teeny tiny doodar sticking off his wing mirror. Seems like it could be/is being used as a handy measuring stick for that perfect mm gap from the wall.

At those speeds though, all the measuring and estimation was done before you even entered the corner.

Looks like the dolphin tried to eat the seagull, then decided it wasn't very appetizing.

That "teeny tiny doodar" (doo-dah) is both the mirror mount itself and part of the aero kit:

They're just doing some Helicopter Challenges before getting back to the main story.
