I'm standing here. I see repaints of inkling girl. I don't see inkling boy or squid sisters. I suspect they are slated for this week... But I have to stop by another store to be safe.
Edit: looks like street is the 8th. So.. Mistake on toys r us part.

Hey bike thread!
So in preparation for my move overseas I'm strongly considering swapping my cruiser for a folding bicycle, because I'd be able to take it on the MRT and so forth. Does anyone have any experience with folding bikes? Brand recommendations? Important tips?

I have no idea, but I do remember that the one folding bike I ever rode when I was a kiddo had a hinge that was flogged out and it was absolutely terrible... So I guess be sure that the hinge of whatever you end up getting is beefy as shit.
I feel Monster hunter stories is coming to NA and Europe because of the Amiibo

Our new Sawtooth dimple design consists of 12 nodes that are specifically clocked to start aerodynamic shearing at a rate of 50hz at a rider speed of 20mph. Sawtooth accomplishes this by inducing small sheet vortices that shed at a low magnitude, but at a higher natural frequency, thus decreasing the laminar bubble effect on the aerodynamically shielded side of the rim’s profile to further reduce high yaw drag and improve crosswind stability.
That is a lot of Science at work (which I'm sure is real, but the biggest difference in my average speed getting to work is, by far, if I have a headwind or a tailwind). Personally, I want a wheel where I can still straighten rim dents out with a pair of pliers when it hits a pothole because it's summer so roadwork time, and enough spokes that when I ride up/down a curb I only break a spoke once every few months, rather than every time. (and yes, what am I doing on the sidewalk? Cutting through the corner of a carpark to get to the next bit over; trust me, I am more annoyed than most people by cyclists being where they shouldn't be)

Sounds like you need triple-wall downhill MTB rims.
sounds like I need to not ride with a few more skills and a bit less hamfistedness, too, but I am too lazy to actually do that when I can just bang about and deal with the consequences later. (see also: getting around to cleaning bits of grit out of brake blocks, because it is a _VERY_ loud noise when a rim rips in half during tyre inflation. On the other hand, that was the time I learned how to make a wheel from scratch, which was sort of interesting)
I don't think they make 700c skyway tuff wheels, sadly. (or ACS Z Rims, for that matter)

(I was being sarcastic, but seriously get some custom made carbon rims that are strong enough to be used on a rally car with no tyres and weigh 15 pounds each))

I missed the "downhill" part of your earlier comment and was like, "wait, what?"

Just get larger tires. Seriously. They'll help protect your rims and smooth out your ride. I'm talking some 32mm guys with lots of air volume. It's the whole concept around the mountain bikes with + size tires/fatbikes. More air volume = smoother ride and better bump handling.
yeah, I should probably do that; I'm on 25mm right now which is pretty skinny if not too ridiculous, and 99% of the time that's just fine -- but when I hit the transition between road where the top surface has been removed and where it's still left behind, it makes a pretty loud clunk noise even at 100psi or so, and I am a very long way from being fast enough to tell the difference in speed from bigger tyres)
How big are you? You could just run your 25mm at like 80psi and probably be better off all around. Pinch flatting won't really be an issue unless you are a bigger person. I'm over 200lbs and can get away with letting them drop even lower than that sometimes.

Just a huge solid mass of titanium mesh reinforced carbon. Load limit approximately 85,000 pounds per wheel...

Got my new ISM saddle. Initial impression from just one commute is that it is weird but not uncomfortable. Going to have to really break it in this week

If you're interested in aero wheels but don't want to shell out $3K for a set of Zipps, you could check out FLO wheels instead (http://www.flocycling.com/). A set of 45mm or 60mm-depth carbon FLOs runs about $1,000. I use a set of aluminum FLO 30s, which are about half that price, and they're great wheels. I discovered them when I was getting into triathlon a few years ago and they were just getting off the ground. The owners/designers run a pretty interesting blog where they go through their design process and get into the science of aerodynamic wheels. The downside is that they're a small outfit, and they're not willing to ramp up production too quickly, so they operate on a batch-order system.

If you notice yourself getting sore in new and weird places after a few rides, you might not have the seat back far enough. I also had a really slim saddle before, so I had to adjust the post down to accommodate the thickness of the ism.

For the record. This discourse right here is why they do it. We're still sitting here talking about it where of they had just gathered on a street corner we never would have even started.
Yeah. Less motos, more barriers, and paid admission to certain key spots is going to happen. It was inevitable before this, but now it will be top priority. Of course, the last two will end up happening, and the first won't because that would be less revenue paid for photo and tv rights...

Because they can't get positive attention. This isn't a new thing. They've been fighting this for years but because it hasn't had much of an impact on people's lives they've ignored it.
Pissing people off and forcing change may not be the best way to go about it but when you've exhausted all other options it becomes the only way.

At this point you may as well wait until Smash NX gets announced.

I also run a pair of Williams carbon tubeless from time to time and they are also buttery goodness.
I can't bring myself to move away from standard aluminum rims (Easton EA90s and a pair of OEM MAvics) for everyday riding though...

(re: zipp wheels -- http://www.competitivecyclist.com/zipp-404-nsw-carbon-clincher-road-wheelset. $3100 for the wheelset. I think that's about twice as much as all my bikes put together cost, though to be fair only one of those was new when I boutht it).

I have to say Pham's in the Midtown Global Market is the best I've ever had.
I had a mix of honeydew and... Mango maybe? I can't remember
If the stage had run to the summit there wouldn't have been nearly as many people on that stretch.
