You're right, but Laura against Ken, at least you can scrub out a win and then who knows?
Sim is always gonna be a STEEP uphill fight against a Ken and you can only win it by being solid the entire match. In Sim's worst matchup. Against Momochi. I just...Man, hey, I'm sure he knows what he's trying to do at least and I respect his decision. I just can't believe it.

Also now he's retweeting some SALTY ASS tweets re: SFV and Sim so I guess that answers that.

Every. Fucking. Year.
"Justin's learning a pocket character for his bad matchups."
"Justin's learning new tech."
"Justin's saving shit for nationals."
Capcup comes, Justin loses to the same shit he loses to throughout the year.
Sajam was hype on commentary just now about him learning a new character. NOPE IT'S KARIN, in the matchup he's lost to (usually twice!) in every major tournament this year.
UD got hype when Justin did jump tech OS last tournament. "IS THIS THE BIRTH OF A NEW JUSTIN? A JUSTIN WHO KNOWS TECH?" No.

I was positive one of the casters explicitly said they had talked to justin and justin said he had something ready to help him deal with chun
I really hope his answer wasn't just "karin even harder"

YEEEEEEP. That was Sajam just now. He was so excited when Justin told him that he was learning a special pocket character for Chun pre-Capcup. Capcup starts, Sajam asks Justin what he's gonna pick: "Karin, but my combos are better now."
I was talking with @Jasconius about exactly this. Sajam mentioned the pocket character, and I straight up called Justin sticking with Karin because Every Fucking Year.
This is a consistent thing with Justin too, it's not just this year and SFV. Fucking Justin playing bunk-ass Rufus every fuckin' year and not learning any OS was soooooo incredibly frustrating to watch in SF4.

I think it's becoming more and more clear that Karin and especially Nash are less good than people originally thought. We all talked about how Nash was anomalous in the top 8, having none of the top tier characteristics that the other top 8 characters have (3f jab, good movement, invincible reversal, etc.) Nash is getting figured out as people learn how to deal with his movement and his weaknesses are shining through now.
Karin is a separate issue and I don't know how many people would agree, but Karin is just...too honest? Great buttons, but bad antiairs means too many characters (especially other top characters like Chun/Ryu/Ken) can bully her, and she doesn't really have real mixups. Personally I think top 8 is probably something like Chun>Ryu (which is set in stone) >>> Ken>Cammy>Necalli>Mika>Karin>Nash, where one ">" means slightly better than. Guile probably exists somewhere there, around about Karin, but we haven't really seen enough of him to say, especially since he's mostly being played as a counterpick right now.

here's the current bracket:
I like that they're streaming every match even if it means it will take a ton of time
Both, in fact
I can't fucking believe it.
"Let me pick my pocket character into his worst matchup against (one of) the best people playing that character, how could this go wrong?"

Very true. First time Justin has hit an optimal combo. Just like he did jump tech OS once in previous tournament.

I think losing first round when you were one of the favorites to win the whole thing will do that.
God damn
