The Netherworld. No one knows where it came from, even fewer want to.
The time-honored final resting place of departed souls, both accursed and otherwise, as well as the dwelling place for those lovable creatures you know as demons.
Of course, it wouldn't do to have the Afterlife go unmaintained:
this is why the position of the
Overlord was designated*.
(
*It is still a matter of dispute just who came up with the idea, but scholars generally accept that he or she likely died in the resulting warring for the proverbial throne, so the point has been since regarded as moot.)
Unfortunately, none of the demons could really agree on just who would be Overlord.
After more warring, the natural conclusion was that there could be several: one assigned to a specific Netherworld, over which that Overlord would be given specific reign, with all the benefits the role entails.
There was still warring, of course, but it was made far less troublesome by the fact that it was confined to separate dimensional locations.
Some centuries and uncounted death tolls later, each Netherworld had its Overlord, and all was right in the Afterlife.
At least, until now.
Considering the recent disturbances reported all over the galaxy, by both the living and the dead, all is not well.
Entire villages of unsuspecting innocents, of both human and other varities, have been turning up missing, or more frequently, brutally slaughtered.
It seems the demons are on the move. To what end, that remains to be seen.
The region of Veldime is no stranger to war. Its citizens have fought off one Overlord too many to let a little thing like the combined might of every demon in the Netherworld bring their lands to ruin.
However, they are a lazy people, and the few that know how to fight tend to not bother. Backing down is much easier, and offers longer life span.
Fortunately for you, they've got money to burn.
So, they seek as many able-bodied creatures as they can find to fend off this demonic advance. Be you human, vegetable, mineral, penguin, or some freakish combination of the previous factors, you are hence forth encouraged to

Previous knowledge of the Disgaea and assorted Nippon Ichi games is not a prerequisite, but in all honesty, it will help.
For the uninitiated, this game will be primarily resolved through
!voting, like in the Mafia games of old.
However, there will be several other mechanics that will be introduced as the game progresses, some of which may even be introduced in midst of the sign-up process.
(Those of you familiar with the source material may have some idea of what to expect.)

Not that I got more than a day out of the main and mini last.
Cheater, I protest this game. Disgaea had a 115 character limit.
And you have that dumb kid in the bottom right of your sig when you've left out Gordon and Etna. I'm honestly curious what went into that decision.
As for the signature, I tried to get the most out of it.
I don't even think Gordon was in the source image.
No, he's not; and Etna would take up half of it.
Naturally...
Come oooooon, Infidel
All the cool kids are doing it, infidel.
Come on, complimentary membership into the 'Penguin Chuckers Society,' Rend's patented day 0 network!
No excuses.
I stand corrected; Gordon IS there. In the very background, shaded.
I guess he was moderately useful in item world, but still...

Mmm... Ferengi killing cardassians. That was a funny image.
... what... what happened with your avatar?
He looks sinister and scheming. Like mine. Like Ferengi.
Fuck it, !signup but it's assignment and exam time so I guarantee nothing in the way of insightful play.
I'm off to bed, screw you guys.
Tink had the roll attack going for him, and Taro... well, that milk powerup had its uses.
Taro was my weapon skill leveling bitch, actually.
Guys, you're slacking: Sabs for still being alive.
Same reason I sign up; 'cause you like being day one killed, always of accused of being evil, and generally playing the permanent role of scapegoat.
I started trying to kill him in the Star trek miniphalla
