I had some pretty sweet volkl all mountain skis back in college when I was in the Ski/Snowboard club. I was saving up for some twin tips and volkl gotama powder planks but I ended up getting into DnD hardcore and I became a nerd instead
You go in the cage, cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water, our shark.
Everyone I ski with lives by the pirate code and only organize as much as "We're generally going to be in this area, right now, we can meet up on this lift"
I get lost a lot (on purpose for fun) and don't stop on the run so I don't ski with big groups much.
My sister asked me to explain Spectre to her like she was five, and I accepted the challenge. I didn’t quite nail it but I got the gist I think.
“You know how if you ask a little kid if they stole a cookie, and they take a long time to say no, that means they probably stole a cookie?”
“Yeah. It takes them longer to lie than tell the truth.”
“That’s called a side channel attack. It’s when you learn something secret not from the answer you’re given but from how it was given.”
“How does that let people steal things from my phone?”
“Let’s say a game you downloaded for your phone is evil and wants to read all your texts. What it can do is ask the phone: if the first letter of the latest text message is ‘a’, then go to the next level of the game.”
“And if it’s ‘a’ then it goes to the next level?”
“No, it gets told, no, you can’t look at text messages.”
“Oh, that’s good. Then how does it read the texts?”
“The next thing it does is try to load up the next level of the game without asking about your texts. If it loads fast, then the first letter was ‘a’. If it loads slow, then it wasn’t.”
“Why?”
“That’s the mistake behind Spectre. It takes a long time to find out what’s allowed and what isn’t, so your phone loads the next level if the latest text starts with ‘a’. Then when it finds out that reading texts wasn’t allowed, it goes back and tells the game no, but it leaves the next level ready to go. So if you ask to go to the next level again, it’ll go faster or slower depending on secret information. You learned something through a side channel.”
“So it has to check every single letter like this to read a text?”
“Exactly, but that doesn’t take long for a computer.”
“I don’t think a five year old would understand this”
That agree was for your sister
I don't think five year olds will understand this.
That's because 5 year olds don't understand cause and effect, like, at all

My Girlfriend's trees have been epoxied onto rocks, now it'll just be minor touchups tomorrow and then setting up beauty shots.

Those are really nice; I would put one in my office. I've always really liked that style of wire trees and these are particularly good instances of them.
San Antonio has the Riverwalk, but it is more like canals. There is a cool fountain next to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Museum. The wax museum also has an elaborate horror exhibit.
The Weeknd is making it VERY clear -- H&M's apology for a racist online ad has fallen on deaf ears -- and he'll never work with them again.
The clothing store came under heavy fire after an ad showed an African-American child wearing a hoodie with the inscription, "Coolest Monkey in the Jungle."

Ok bathroom selfies are dumb but I'm so cute today???
Usually Tom Scott videos show up instantly on my Youtube frontend, but this one just could not rise into the feed over videos I had already seen. I really fear the content wasn't so alien to his audience for some reason that it just got a ton less views? Which would suck this is neat stuff
there is also a ton of verbal communication going on in this ASL talk

didn't need to, his wife already had that role down pat

I have negative interest in watching a notoriously toxic rager
wait, 300K? that's an order of magnitude more than I had just processed mentally. Can't be real, can it?
Draven player, toxic rager, I thought permabanned by Riot but I guess not?
dude who got banned from League for being a recognized "jerk" and was recently let back in.

As far as purgatories go this is probably on the better half
Notoriously toxic LoL player. He's had something like 19 account bans.
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
There used to be a lot of 'free tyler1' memes and stuff; he has a huge fanbase I guess. I think he also organized a well-attended tournament recently.
shut up i don't care if someone posted this several days ago

So I can't get any of the twitch goodies or do a prime sub on twitch, only he can.
And apparently I can't borrow any of the free books from Prime Reading. Only he can.

If only you could bet on other people not paying their taxes, I'd have made a fortune on willie nelson.
