plus it's not like losing all your teeth is just a temporary thing and they're gonna grow back in a week or some shit. it's not like you're in here complaining about your man flu when you're otherwise healthy*
point made about otherwise healthy bc lemme tell you, as an autoimmune spoonie, fuck colds right in the ass. it should be illegal for me to get them. if a chronically ill person wanna complain about a cold in here, trust me, we will all relate to how much bullshit it is

In anyone else sticking with the elimination diet?
Because oh Lord it is killing me.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I am lately eating tiny bits of whatever doesn't make me nauseous to look at, which is not good for sticking to the plan. Sorry. My stomach is trying to eat itself again because we tried to phase out the PPI I was taking.
I am sticking to the no coffee part, though. My only caffeine is from a cup or two of tea a day. I have not murdered anyone yet. (And I'm doing low sodium, no alcohol, and almost no dairy, but those don't really count because I was already doing them.)
I already struggle to eat enough calories in a day because of depression (preparing and eating food just seems like too much work a lot of the time), so it's really not a good time to stop eating staples. I'm cutting out fast food, soda, coffee, and most processed/junk/convenience foods - which is really minor compared to what you're living with, I know
Re: salmon: How are you preparing it? My mom has a baked salmon recipe - more of a formula, really - that almost literally melts in your mouth, and the only ingredients are the salmon itself and a little salt and pepper (but obviously you can leave out the seasoning, and it will still be delicious, assuming you don't hate salmon). I can get it from her and PM it to you, if you'd like.

I have been trying since last night and I can not for the life of me get hydrated.
I feel utterly miserable.
Oh, and my insurance is continuing to fuck me over.
And I have lost about 20 lbs since my last Drs. visit 2 weeks ago. This diet is certainly having...an effect.
Ugh.

We got to file our first police report ever yesterday when we discovered our cleaning people stole a bunch of pain meds out of our bathroom. Thankfully they didn't get her current meds, just some older ones we hadn't disposed of yet. Still feels shitty, though.

I have been burgled twice. By the second time, I had the foresight to put a large bottle of old pain medicine filled with Flagyl displayed prominently while my real medication was safely hidden and in nondescript bottles. If people think they are stealing your meds, they seem more likely to miss out on your medication

Ha ha ha ha.
Oh man, this quote from my book that I'm using as the basis for my elimination diet "The Paleo Approach: Reverse Autoimmune Disease and Heal Your Body"
"When you combine the toxic and immunostimulatory effects of agglutinins with the toxic and immunostimulatory effects of prolamins, it becomes very clear that, for those with autoimmune disease, foods that contain these substances should not be consumed. In fact, given what is now known about the actions of WGA and gliadin, it is surprising that, as a society, we even consider wheat to be a food. " - Sarah Ballatyne, PhD in Biophysics

Well, now my immunosuppressant is going to be delayed because of my still unresolved insurance issue that, let me rims you guys, was caused randomly through no fault of my own and was in no was foreseeable or preventable by me.
So now the insurance company needs information from medicaid, but medicaid hasn't been open for days because the severe winter weather has shut down the government office running those phone offices.
Just.
Fuck me.
Why do I even bother?

Oh hey, does anyone want to help me out my thoughts into writing? I would like to share what it is like to have Crohns, and how my Crohn's is different specifically...but it's kinda traumatic for me to put into writing. If someone from the forums could like, chat over discord or Skype and assist me with this I'd be grateful.

And wow. The reason why my insurance got canceled is so monumentally stupid the it beggars comprehension. It still should have never been canceled, but the reason for the error is beyond idiotic.
Oh, and did you know I don't get an Obamacare discount because I am on disability? Ha ha fuck America.

I still don't have my insurance issues resolved.
I might have to cancel my disability benefits to get everything fixed, I dunno!
Everything is super fucked and I can't do anything about it because it's the weekend!
Ha. Ha. Ha.
And at this point, every day that this insurance is unresolved is an extra day without the immunosuppresants I need to control my Crohn's.

It'll be a week before I know if the insurance situation is resolved and to what degree.
I might be able to get some immunosuppressant from my GI doctor if he has some samples that he can send me, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Uuugh, I'm sorry, Munkus. I hope you manage to get those immunosuppressants soon!
I need to go back on medication, I feel awful. I don't really have the time to find an endo before my move (nor would it be worth it) so I don't know, either remain off meds for a few more months, or go to the Urgent Care I have a history with and ask for a short dose?
In the meantime I need to remember Vit D and iron because I'm sure my anemia and vit D deficiency isn't helping either!
I haven't had a period in 4 months now which is longer than usual for me.

Wow, that IS a long time to go sans period. Are you sure you're not up the duff?
Periods are kind of a low-priority thing, tbh. They're often one of the first things to go when the body is dealing with more important shit. Not having one can be a sign of something more serious, but it's not dangerous in itself.
My knees and ankles have decided to join most of the rest of my joints in this arthritis bullshit. I am not okay with this.
At least my toes and right elbow don't hurt.

Update: Got my immunosuppresant (thank God for samples)
Will know if my insurance is figured out on the first couple days of February.

Yeah, the herniated disk in my neck and my knees have started grinding when I move them. Lack of cartilage due to running incorrectly in the Army and degenerative arthritis have teamed up on me. The VA wants me to travel to Tuskegee again for an MRI on my knees because the x-rays showed a "loose foreign body."
So my elderly father is in hospital again. Critical but stable. We have a carer that comes 3 times a day and he had a couple of days off, so when his temp replacement showed up, he said he had the bloody flu, so my dad ends up catching it. And I can't go visit my dad as I'm also now sick.
Also more of my fingers in my right hand are getting stiff (one has been unable to bend for months now).

I am like the only person I know who got out of the Army with unfucked knees. My arm and spine are another story.

Uh, especially with elder care aren't they explicitly supposed to not come in if they're at all sick?

It’s kinda funny how being the guy who talks about his disease I find all these people who either have similar diseases or have children who do and I often have something from my experiences to help them out.
Usually it’s never stop taking remicade for a break because if you do you’ll become allergic if you try and restart it.

Remicade is one of the least intrusive, most effective immunosuppressants on the market and I stopped taking it for a month because my dumbass local GI doc didn’t like my liver enzyme level (which was caused by the 6MP, not remicade) being where it was at. When I restarted I nearly went into anaphylactic shock about 30 minutes into the infusion.

First time I had a little discomfort breathing before they decided to dump a bunch of benadryl and steroids into me. They have since just put me on a really slow titrate rate and have me take singular a week ahead. I think that last bit might be a placebo thing but fuck if I'm not gonna take it and find out.
