Nuts and bolts did do that very attractive thing of going "Ha ha! You wanted a banjo kazooie platforming collectathon game? What are you, a fucking child idiot moron? I hope you eat shit and die if you wanted that! This game is for hardcore gamerz with attitude only, no nintendo kiddie shit on this, the glorious microsoft xbox for cool people who aren't babies!" in the intro sequence

I might be exaggerating that a little, but ONLY a little

    Don't forget the fat jokes.

Nuts and Bolts' intro is a bad fucking look.

Also saying the villain looks queer

Was that Gruntilda desperately searching for a word to rhyme with "fear"?

Smear, ear, hear, cheer, near, gear, tear, peer, pier, sear.

Though that'd require Rare to make decent games anymore.

Oh yeah. There's no reason or excuse and I'm not saying there is or was. I was just guessing at how the word even made it into the script, and I figured Gruntilda was the likeliest answer.

It is, at a bare minimum, decent.

The underwater tracks in the DKC series are some of the best music in games.

Tropical Freeze continues the tradition. Not only are the remixes of the DKC 1 and 2 tracks solid, but Amiss Abyss is one the best new tracks in the game

No I just mean they stopped making the games. For a series called endless ocean you'd think there'd be way more content.

There is a reason. Rare is a UK developer, and "queer" is much more likely in British English to just mean "odd" than it is in the US. The connotation of "homosexual" can certainly be there, but it isn't necessarily the default. There is a common phrase, "there is naught so queer as folk," that is so standard in usage that it could be used for the double meaning for the show Queer as Folk later without raising eyebrows.

That the game was called Diddy's Kong Quest instead of Diddy Kong's Quest always frustrated me.

It's kind of a shame that the Charles Barkley sequel turned into vaporware, but on the other hand that game has not aged very well at all.

It's kinda remarkable how badly the Wii U sold when it had some damn good games.

I doubt most consumers pay close attention to things like that, it's probably mostly a function of there being a lot more switch owners

Not really. It loads faster and they added a new easy mode but that's basically it.

At a certain point, I feel like comparing Switch game sales to Wii U game sales is akin to beating the chalk outline used to mark where a dead horse used to be.

Yeah I’m just gonna assume every single port to Switch sells considerably more

Show me the game that sold more on Wii U than its Switch version, that’s what I’m interested in
