Many, MANY months late, I finished up the KOTOR LP this week. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit, even though there were many boring lows that caused me to listen to other things instead. I really like varied branching choice trees like: Go evil, make Bastilla join instead of kill her, allow your party to join or not, force Big Z to do something horrible. I feel like in some recent Biowares, there would be like ONE of those choices. And it would be in the trailer.

I started that game back in the day and got to Tatooine before getting kind of bored of it and moving on. I always heard it was great but couldn't really bring myself to dig back into the prehistoric combat system and item management. Also, my character turned out to be horrifically ugly in a way I couldn't discern from the character creator.

The boat stories are a good idea, implemented poorly. Have a story-time button command that lets you pick when to listen to a story while traversing places where you've already been, or when doing puzzles.

Nah, I liked how they did boat stories.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Yeah, the fact that you could dock and do some things and re-embark and the stories resumed was good stuff.

I'm with Pat, ever since Mimir got introduced the stories all end with "And then Odin and/or Thor was a huge asshole" which has the effect of making them run together into a boring blob

The game's writing has been spiraling hard as soon as Mimir showed up, which is not on him so much, he's fine as a performance, but he's also simultaneously the arbiter of Lore and Morality and as such the more he speaks the more the game's big candy shell reveals itself to be very hollow

Why didn't they include the story where Loki turned into a girl horse and banged a boy horse to prevent a man from completing a wall on time and getting the sun, the moon and Freyja as a reward? I also think they could have done a mention of Kalevala lore, even though that is separate from Norse mythology. I think it is just as cool, and the meter is beautiful.

Sadly, the Thrym story in GOW doesn't really have shenanigans.
Thor being disguised as Freya is swapped for Thor being turned invisible while Freya is escorted to Thrym's palace.

Episode 11 of Detroit: Become Human
Why does shooting a robot in the chest kill it? Why can't you just boot it back up if you want? I mean... they wouldn't because it was involved on an attack on police officers, but it's not the same thing as shooting a person! Later they suggest that that kills its heart thing but why can't you just insert the hard drive in a new body? Are they suggesting the androids are affected by the functioning of their bodies? That's been SUPER selective, with them feeling pain... but also not?

    Episode 12
Every time Matt turns on an electronic device, the ENTIRE PUBLIC collectively hates androids more. This is a pretty good running bit. I can't believe it went down TWICE for changing the channel.

OK, I just watched Woolie climb the long Nier-ladder all the way multiple times, because he asked Liam if it's possible to get off a ladder with a jump, and Liam didn't know for sure.

Uh holy shit. So that thing Markus does to turn the building's androids to his side. Is that supposed to represent him having a conversation at the speed of computers and convincing them of his cause and his plan? Or is he outright brainwashing them? If it's the latter, then that's really fucked up, Markus.

    I'm pretty sure that he
makes them deviants (i.e. removes all the programmed blocks on thought and behavior) and then has a computer-speed conversation where he explains the situation and asks them for help. And then they can choose to help him or not.

Although I have no idea why deviancy works like that or why he knows it works like that.
