So someone on Twitter said infusion takes masterwork cores now. Is that accurate?
Infusion costs scale now. So it will depend on how similar the two items are.
AFAIK infusing, like, a legendary hand cannon into another legendary hand cannon should be almost free but infusing a rare scout rifle into an exotic hand cannon is gonna cost a ton.
Can someone please copypaste patch notes here for us at work behind firewalls?

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

UI
Fixed an issue where having a certain number of unique items in the vault was causing items to not load
Fixed an issue where text would hitch on multiple screens when players are playing on a PlayStation Pro
Wait, you can't delete mods from your old gear, but you can delete the gear itself to get the mod component back, right? I specifically kept my vault full of items with mods so I'd reap those rewards come today.
Also, I don't think I'm crazy about shader acquisition. It certainly makes the chase interesting, but maybe getting a shader to drop from destroying gear that it's applied to is ... a choice.
I've been refreshing the Bungie store in the hopes of buying the soundtrack. It's been down most of the morning.
But then I went over to Bungie.net and poked around my account, and discovered something there called Bungie Rewards. The first one is a free digital copy of the Forsaken OST + the Whisper of the Worm tracks, once you complete the Forsaken campaign. That's... really cool, actually.
Edit: the store is back up, and their version of the Forsaken OST is bundled with the Warmind and Curse of Osiris OSTs. That is a whole lot of music - and what I was hoping for. Warmind and CoO had some good music.

Nope.
It doesn't seem to work like they suggested it would in the TW@B. Unequipped mods can be dismantled and appear as they showed there but equipped mods are just locked into their slots and you can't do anything with them. And dismantling the gear doesn't generate mod components.
PvP medals are all tracked in the Triumph screen. So you unlock them whenever you get them and it tracks how many you've gotten.
It should be retroactive too but the Triumph screen is only kind of sporadically updating, which kinda makes sense since it's doing something in the background to work through the backlog and it might be a bit spotty there.

Oh well, I'm not really worked up about it. More of a "come on, guys, you specifically called this out as a thing we could do" and ... nope. Blah. Oh well, the purge begins once I get home regardless.

I'm really enjoying the flow and production of the first few missions. Really hoping this is the new direction for Bungie. The cut scenes are gorgeous and the whole thing seems much better paced, with much less jarring transitions.
Wow, so much chatter about the New Shiny Thing and here I am just starting the Y1 DLC!
The ammo/gun slot thing was very confusing to me at first. Putting pretty much every useful gun on primary (white) ammo made it really hard to pick guns. Mostly because I only have like two or three guns TOTAL that use secondary (green) ammo. From my limited seelction I ended up with Hawthorne's shotty, a nice 280 Inaugural Address and DARCI in the power slot. I guess the hours I spent agonizing over that are wasted now since Y1 guns are going to be deprecated after today.
I finished the Curse of Osiris campaign completely over the weekend. I was shocked as how easy it was - Power Level 200+?? In a way that was a Good Thing because I needed the time to re-learn how Destiny controls worked. I think I was maybe three or four missions in before I even remembered that Grenades were a Thing.
I'm still confused by the Power Level limits. I read online that the cap for CoO was level 25 and PL330 - and yet I finished it at level 27 and the final reward was PL333. Weird!! I haven't bought Forsaken (yet?).
I keep seeing references to "catalysts" in here. I have no idea what that is or why I need one.
OH shout out to @DodgeBlan I wasn't ignoring you, I just had a lot of stuff going on and was AFKing for long-ish periods all day. Didn't want to burden you. Plus I'm still climbing out of a year-old power hole so I suspect I'd have been a massive detriment to you in any case! (But thanks for reaching out.)
Is it worth trying to get back into the clan for the short term? Is there room? Again, I'm not up to Forsaken (yet?) but still would like to get the benefit of clan perks if that's still a thing. maybe there is a Y1 sub-clan for folks like me?
Wow, so much chatter about the New Shiny Thing and here I am just starting the Y1 DLC!
Special weapons are Snipers, Fusion Rifles, single shot Grenade Launchers and Shotguns. Those are the only types of weapons that use that ammo.
Power level limits are based on the highest DLC you have. If you own CoO and Warmind, your level cap is 30 and your infusion limit is 380. The soft cap used to be at 340 but it might not exist for you now and you could probably easily level up to around 380.
Catalysts are for exotic weapons. How you get them is both random and tied to specific activities. If you have an exotic, and it has a catalyst, it has a special mod slot that tells you cryptically how you might get the catalyst. Once you have it, you get a new set of goals for the weapon to power it up fully with bonus stats or perks. Collecting them and powering them up is part of the grindy fun we've had since Warmind.

I'll check again when I get home.
I'm at to be spending more time dismantling than playing for a bit.

You get it after completing the campaign, per Reddit.
