If you superheat metal and then freeze it, the metal basically shatters.

Going from what, like 20 seconds of Recipro Burst to 10 minutes is a crazy upgrade.

Which you would hope after having to rip pieces of your body off.

No I just noticed the similarity is all
Drill kids quirk is like a member of the Dolflamingo family and and Pony's quirk is like a villain called Ramhead.

They aren't 1:1 but I feel like its a purposeful nod

Catching up on the episodes after the very end of July, so I have yet to see Kick-form Deku or Mirio. Am stoked

also I restarted on episode 50 because it was a good stopping point but it is also proving to be a great launch point

Sero or Kirishima would probably have a lot of fun at a big party. I get the distinct feeling that iida and Midoriya would both be trying to plan out the entire night in advance. Koda, Tokoyami, and Todoroki would be uncomfortable at a big party.

The poll entries are only in certian newstand issues.
Fan clubs will buy the issues with poll entries in bulk before they hit newstands.

    The results are tainted

In order to vote you have to have a physical copy of WSJ, and have to pay postage to send it in. Crazy people buy multiple copies and send them in. It's more common for series where people have very weird attractions to certain characters and want to try to influence them to "win."

    With regards to the results
I believe that Yu Yu Hakasho and Hunter X Hunter are two other series where the main character ended up 3rd at one point, and that's not bad company to be keeping in terms of series quality.

Because popularity polls influence the story.

EDIT: To put another way, characters who feature high in popularity polls get some pressure from the editor on the creator to feature those characters more prominently, and sometimes small side characters can get a chapter or few dedicated to them when otherwise they wouldn't.

there are so many better ways of analyzing that kind of data today that i can't believe any writers or editors actually give a shit about mail-in popularity polls, but i guess it does get the real obsessives to buy more magazines

Its rare big names care about polls but an editor on a smaller less popular series might be pushier about it

    I dunno, I mean

he keeps hurting himself to measure up to his big muscley father figure

And yet IT'S NEVER ENOUGH, HURT YOURSELF MORE UNTIL DAD LOVES YOU
