When the person you are involved with asks "Who is that dude that is always mean to you on facebook" and you try and explain these forums and their assorted jokes. And then their roommate demands to see the phone and starts messaging them.

Maybe he should be less mean if he doesn't want messages from randos!
Last night I got texted a boobies pic from a stranger asking Danny if he wanted to hang out. I responded with, "Wrong number girl, but you go get that dick!" and she responded with, "LOL thanks sister!!!!"

I guess I'm her sister.
I want you as a wing-person, too, very supportive.

In my case the person who is always mean to me on social media is the person I am involved with.
I don't know how anyone texts something to a wrong number these days, especially when it seems to be someone they have texted before? Maybe even regularly?

Oh god she documented the entire night on Instagram. Glad the internet knows how awful me and the person I’m sorta with are at eating tacos at 2am

In South Africa if a mobile number isn't used for 3 months the provider disables it and assigns it to a new SIM. So every now and then I would get messages meant for the person who used to have my number. Usually asking for money this person apparently owed them.

... y'know, it's nice to have these little moments of realization.
i think it's been a long time since i forced myself to sleep solely to escape my brain for awhile.
i was just feeling a bit anxious and restless because i'm at loose ends and trying to figure out what to do today / how to get started, so being reminded that i am doing better right now is soothing.
...one of the neighbors' smoke alarms or something is intermittently going off, so that's wrecking neighborhood peace, but hey, better than continuous screeching, or one infrequent chirp to cause self-doubt!
realtalk re: sick naps: if you can, take a hot shower or bath -- your body cooling down is a sleep inducer, feeling all snuggly warm tends to make people feel sleepy, and breathing in steamy air might ease some congestion. get comfy in bed with whatever accessories you need (tissues, water, etc), then read something dry, or if you're like me sometimes, do some crosswords or sudoku to give your brain time to wind down.
Love thread, could I get some advice on which one of these makes for a better first photo? Or if I should take an actually good photo instead that isn't just a selfie from my car?

The second one is better but they're both car selfies
Edit: Actually, let me be specific. I think the first one is a better picture of you, but the framing isn't as good. I can't see the top of your head. The second one has a slightly better angle (straight on is only good for the most perfectly featured of us, although a little bit more from above would probably be a wise decision) and provides a slightly better framing, but I don't think you look quite as good. However, they're also too similar to be using both.
Also they're both clearly taken in a car, which feels weird, and by virtue of that, they are a bit too zoomed in feeling, which also is setting off my spine in a way that I can't fully explain.
Straightzi on

I like the first one better but you should get one that isnt a car selfie
Should I keep growing out the beard or go back to a shorter trim?
Is it the same beard in both shots? If so the beard is good keep it like that, if not I think I like the first beard more

First one because of the voting sticker, along with the outfit. I've used car selfies before, it's how you rock it that matters.

The first is a lot better but unless you want to be asked about your political affiliation straight out of the gate you might want to go for the second
And it seems like all is dying, and would leave the world to mourn

If somebody changes their number, somehow it gets recycled and back into the system and then reassigned. Lots of people don't always update their contacts.
I've gotten some weird-ass random wrong-number texts, but luckily nothing NSFW yet.
90% of the wrong number calls and texts I get seem to be from elderly people looking for their siblings/grandkids.
or are they?

The best wrong text I ever got:
"Do you want to go drink a lil drink smoke a little smoke"
"It's possible you have the wrong number. This is Jedoc."
"My bad."
The worst wrong text I ever got was just a few nights ago, when somebody texted me in Spanish to tell me which hospice they were putting our mom into. I had to do a bit of research on Spanish variations of "deepest condolences" before I replied to that one.

Well at least some of them must be!
Pretty sure I’ve told the story on here about how one lovely old fella would accidentally call my number around the same time every week, looking for his brother. I’d usually just let him know he had the wrong number and he’d thank me and hang up, but a few times now and then we’d have a little conversation about whatever and that seemed to really cheer him up.
This went on for almost a year or so before he suddenly stopped calling.

Like, you send that message to a less scrupulous sort of person, and they might message back being all, "I'm not Danny but I am interested"
And then, I dunno, you gotta venmo that person some bitcoins or whatever

I am still relatively sure it was a scam attempt, but I'd like to think I helped two horny college students make a huge sticky mess.

But yeah, car selfie?
The beard in the second picture looks a lot more even but you could maybe touch it up a bit.
And smile more! Bigger smile!
