Man I just do not care about the big Batman Who Laughs plotline they are doing right now and they are hyping it up like it is gonna be a big deal and large part of the DCU Multiversal Collapse plotline that is running through the JL titles
The idea of DC characters being corrupted by the BWL (which, I have to say, is the most unwieldy goddamn name and I hate that it stuck) just does nothing for me on its own and the fact that the first 3 we know of
Shazam, Jim Gordon and Hawkman
are 3 characters I love a lot and have no interest in watching twiiiiiiiisted versions of rampage around the DCU just exacerbates the whole thing
Metal was good and Justice League is good but god I hate that he has become the biggest thing to come out of these books

By my money, Batman Who Laughs works as an elemental mook and not like a continuing character.
I could see it being interesting if like, getting him on your side is just as scary for the other guys as if you'd gotten some kind of powerful artifact

The Batman Who Laughs is a done concept but was interesting because he had a whole world to play with that he could destroy and it didn't have to impact the main continuity, it was a fun bit of novelty. But following him up IMMEDIATELY and doing so with not really that great of an idea just kind of lays bare that it's just Batman vs the Joker. The Batman Who Laughs doesn't seem to have any really unique benefits of also being Bruce Wayne and is so far removed from him that the inherent horror in seeing our hero turned villain doesn't connect. For me at least. It's even more apparent when the Joker is present at the same time.

I think my main problem is that I don’t know how you go from Joker plus Batman to Warhammer Chaos aesthetic.
I think the one thing I enjoy about laughybat is how much Joker absolutely hates him. When he first pops up in Justice League again and joker is just muttering in the background about the sound of his laughter is great

They found a way to make me grumpier about it
There is a big teaser they released for WHO ARE THE INFECTED HEROES
And now that 3 of them are revealed a pattern emerged
Gordon, Shazam and Hawkman are all touching their head/faces.
Which means, if it is the clue, 2 of the other infected are Donna Troy and

I remember that Batman & Robin was the first one of these I got to see in the cinema and my family came with and I was so fucking embarrassed.

Tommy Lee Jones did not approve of Carrey's buffoonery.

Hal and Black Canary
There is a higher res version on Twitter
It looks like Hal and Dinah are safe, Hal has his fist raised but it isn't actually touching and Dinah has her arms out.
However, Supergirl is definitely touching her face so that would make for the full group since we know it is 6 people.

I liked Batman & Robin better than Forever, personally
But I came to an appreciation of B&R late, admittedly, when it came out I thought it was terrible because like most everyone else I thought every Batman should be dark and serious, I basically hadn't experienced any pre-80s Batman at the time

I imagine I disliked Batman & Robin around the same time that I may have disliked Superman.
When comic books had to be edgy and dark and gritty.
Thankfully I crossed that threshold and now can recognize the joy of watching something silly or virtuously noble.

Nah it is spilling out into other books
Hawkman's solo book has him infected and leaning into a twisted past life
But also the character I am most grumpy about isn't appearing anywhere else so its a bummer that's the only way they're gonna be showing up for a while
