Is XCOM so desperate for funds we're making critical infrastructure out of the corpses of our friends?
Clearly, someone didn't read the fine print on the contract when they signed up.
Personally, I'm hoping my legs get made into a nice mop, Keeping the place tidy is all I've been doing so far while the rest of you have been issued big space guns and sent out to shoot xenos, it'd be nice to keep that up.
Now, mind the signs. These floors are slippery when wet.
I think Bahamut might have lived if they hadn't missed their second-to-last shot.
Also, get back here Tofy you coward
Hey, y'all remember that time a muton berserker was barrelling towards me, a long range sniping specialist, and I coolly and calmly shot it between the eyes with my pistol?
There are a lot of pictures of Baidol with burning cars either being shot at or around. Is this becoming a thing?

The really messed up thing is that they're self-driving cars with just enough AI to develop a rudimentary oral culture. In parking garages and impound lots all over the world, the whispers are starting.
Baidol the Carslayer, the Autobane, the Ghost Rider of Whips. They are not yet settled on whether he is a monster or a new, dark god come to judge the unrighteous among them, but they are everywhere learning his names.
There are some who believe Baidol is not himself the judge, but a messenger, a harbinger. Cursed to bring doom to any cars that grant him succor for crimes long since faded from memory.
We’re gonna need some cars and a loooooot of gasoline.
It’s not what you think.

Intermission Base Report
Construction of the Proving Grounds finishes. We are pretty strapped for resources right now so there's not many options of projects to start. I pick Bluescreen Protocol, though when it completes in a few days I can't actually afford to build the Bluescreen Rounds so that's sad. Afterwards we start working on Battlefield Medicine.
Sgt. Hobnail graduates as a Sharpshooter. He can train in Long Watch (Overwatch triggers on Squadsight) or Return Fire (fire back with your pistol when targeted by an enemy), and Deadeye (take a shot with reduced aim for increased damage) or Lightning Hands (fire your pistol without costing AP) @Schmimpy Pim- no god what am I saying
Lt. ASimPerson, Cpl. Bucketman, and Sgt. JayKaos return from their covert op with a further lead on where the Chosen Assassin is hiding out. Sgt. Zxerol and Cpl. David T are then sent out to try and sabotage the Avatar project because the doom ticker is getting stupid. I can't afford the supplies to negate the risk of them getting captured, so fingers crossed they make it home!
Our next Council mission rolls in - rescuing an engineer from an ADVENT convoy. I've kind of given up on keeping set squads any more as it's basically impossible with different people constantly being wounded, tired, or out on ops. Cow King gets his first go in the field, and sarukun is going because now I've promoted up all my rookies I need to get the rest of my squaddies upgraded. (sorry you don't look so cool any more sarukun, upgrading to plate armour fucked up my clothing mods)

Yeah, the sad truth of XCOM is that the style choices for light armor are so, so much better.
By the time you're up to powered armor, everyone just looks like generic chunks of plate.

And most of the clothing mods I've encountered only work on the first level of armor for some reason, the only armor set where I'm able to find actual good options without mods
I would like Lightning Hands please merci oh and Return Fire
This thread really put that xcom hankerin in me so I started up a game with all the DLC for the first time and I was really kickin ass to the point where I thought about raising the difficulty and then there was a Berserker Queen who seemingly gets a turn every time anyone does anything and everyone is fucking DEAD theyre all DEAD
Hobnail on
Broke as fuck and the bills past due, all amounts assist and are kindly received.
Yeah they can be real rough. If you get lucky/sneaky and manage to have put a bunch of people on OverWatch before exposing you can a bunch of damage that doesn't trigger extra turns. The next best thing is CC, high damage attacks so you can hit the fleeing threshold in fewer actions, and using her reaction movement to ping pong her away from people.
I believe Berserkers will attack their peeps if no one else is in range.
I think they need to have an enraged status that has a chance to proc when taking damage, first.

And enraging does increase their move speed, so it's a tough thing to plan for properly. I mean unless you are on a roof and have people standing at the top of all of the ladders.
I don't think the queen has that rage ability though. If she does, I would love to see the game where you just use her to decimate all of the enemy troops instead of engaging them yourself.
So itll always like go after the last person to take an action? That is indeed valuable intel
All the special alien baddies do. I forget if they show up on the pre mission scouting report, maybe as unknown, but yeah if at all possible engage them solo with as many cooldowns and consumables as you can.

I wish medals were still a thing like EW, even if they were just cosmetic. It would be cool to be have a way to commemorate guys who survived a proper grinder mission.
Yeah, all the Rulers have the reactions. They don't trigger on actions that don't use action points, though (like throwing an axe, using whiplash, etc--the white outlined actions) so try to use those up while you can.
I just fought the Viper King over two encounters and he kept all his damage from the first battle when he showed up in the second. I had almost killed him when I first discovered him, so it was surprisingly easy to finish him up. (I thought I remembered them healing between encounters, but maybe that was patched out or I just am remembering wrong.)
I miss my rad biker leathers but the real problem is this hat situation, why do I appear to have been admitted to the infirmary with a head injury? It’s covering my fancy ‘do!

I played most of three missions today. Had to stop when my brother wanted access to his shared library (selfish). I've left that last mission with the squad flanked on both sides, and one person a single tile away from being able to reach the evac point next turn. I'm not too hopeful about how it turns out for that person.
Also I just discovered that if you don't take dead soldiers' bodies home with you then you lose their kit. Which explains why I always feel like I should have more items than I do because I've been leaving them in the field. Apparently we are able to go back over battlefields after missions to collect all the ADVENT corpses but we aren't capable of picking up our own guys. Good to know.

A hat/coatrack yes.
You might be thinking of my underwater incarnation where my consciousness was uploaded into a tank.

Baidol's crimes or the cars? Who can say.

Was it white before? (i’m Gonna go home and check in a bit, i’m On mobile at the moment and the screen grabs are tough to parse on this screen.)
Think of it this way, if you get shot you can use the bandana as an improvised field dressing. Then I don't have to waste a medkit on you.
