and i'm checking out this Agolloch
the music is very cool, but i just don't dig those kind of growling vocals
would be perfect if it were just instrumental

From what I remember, The Mantle is pretty light on those.
What I find sorta ironic about meshuggah is that their 20 minute long song (I) is the least boring/repetitive.
Also Whoracle by In Flames is a wonderful album (Episode 666 is especially great), Moonshield is another good track and Wayfarer is one of the best instrumentals ever. I personally like the Clayman album a lot, but that seems to be about where everyone thinks they turn to shit (or the album right after it).
I had never listened to The Knife's original version of "Heartbeats", only the Rex the Dog remix. I just did, and Christ, it is a harrowing experience to jump from the latter to the former.

I could understand saying that about the minimal tack they've taken lately, but if you like thrash at all, you should check out Contradictions Collapse and Destroy, Erase, Improve.
At some point in my life I just decided that I wasn't going to tailor what I liked and disliked to fit in with a group. And music is so subjective anyways that criticizing someone's taste in music is like making fun of the memories someone enjoys.
So, as much as I love doing it, I also waived my right to make fun of other people's choice of music. If someone likes something enough to want to share it then I'll respect that, even if I don't like it myself.

Oh I really like Meshuggah, it's just a lot of their stuff overuses the same riffs too much for my liking.
Ok, the search function seems to not be working right now, so I'm not sure if anyone's posted this. If you like death metal, but are also a Star Wars fan, this is the band for you! I hope to high hell they put an album out.
I read in some review of a maiden gig in England where some kid was throwing eggs at the stage, and I can't remember the exact words but apparently Bruce said something along the lines of "I'll be disappointed if he leaves here with any teeth left".
I like the IF cover of Land of Confusion, but kinda wish they'd done it earlier (it's on the trigger EP).

C-187. Spheres rules, but it isnt as good as Consuming Impulse.
I'd have trouble picking between Consuming Impulse and Testimony of the Ancients though.
They're opening for Ministry in May though, so I'll hear 'em then.

Goddammit. That was such a shit song to begin with.
Poor Blaze gets a bad rap
How come no one ever told me how good Springsteen was? I feel like I have missed out. It's like when I started listening to the Beatles or Dylan.
